Ordered the build your own pizza. The pizza crust was not crisp like usual but on the soft side with a lot of black powder on the bottom like maybe oven hadn’t been cleaned. I have gone to many Blaze restaurants throughout many states and have never had my fingers covered in like black soot. The one time I have left a Blaze not satisfied

It’s chipotle but for pizza!!! Haha we had three people and got the premade options of blazed bbq and spicy pepperoni with thin crust and they were both delicious and amazing and very filling. Love the thin crust. Awesome pizza. Plenty of seating inside and out. We sat outside and it was great. Would absolutely eat here again!

I was pleased to k ow they are not accepting tips, although I was looking to tip for a outstanding service. Hopefully when they are non-tipping business they pay their employees really well about the minimum weight actually a livable wage otherwise it’s gonna be so disappointing. This dictating them not getting tips not paying them. I enjoyed them outstanding service. They accommodate my picking the request by providing most of veggie from under the table , fresh to avoid meat cross contamination.

For takeout, two eleven inch original crust two item pizzas. I ordered them online on the app. I was very impressed with the ordering and the options. The ordering allowed. It’s definitely really cool if you like to build your own pizza, I would recommend it. The pizza itself was tasty. But this crust was so incredibly thin, it was shocking. I would almost go as far as to say paper. Thin, because it was so thin, it was not crunchy, and that took away from the experience that was really disappointing. Having been in new york and tried original thin crust pizza, as well as other locations in San Diego that have great thin crust, this is a swing and a miss with this crust. The other ingredients are great. If they could get the crust right, they would get five stars all the way across.
The atmosphere in the restaurant was very mid. Kind of sad because it was empty, but i’m sure it can be acceptable with a group. The service was very mid. Nothing to complain about, but nothing especially exceptional either.

I wasn’t aware of Blaze Pizza until my coworkers showed me. I really liked the concept of this and the pizza was really good. After the initial visit, I have gone several times. I really like getting the garlic pesto sauce on half the pie with the spicy red sauce. I usually try to get most of the toppings, everything meshes really well. Overall I plan on coming here again in the future.

Blaze was amazing. The crust was like no other. I love the brick oven style, and it wasn’t super crispy but crispy enough. I opted for the spicy chorizo, which is vegan and piled on the veggies. I also had vegan cheese. I do wish they had additional vegan “meat” choices. The pizza was still good. The restaurant was spacious and clean. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather on their patio. The staff was friendly and explained to us our options since it was my first time. I was pleased with my meal. I would visit again.

Great pizza at a fair price. The build your own pizza in the 14″ size is the best value. We got all the meats, roasted red peppers, red sauce, pesto drizzle, arugula, mozzarella, on the classic crust. Aside from being a little burnt on one edge, it was one of the best pizzas we’ve ever had. It could have easily filled 3 people. Update: We got an 11″ Build Your Own Pizza, with nearly all the toppings. It was excellent! It was the perfect size for 2 people. Update: Got two 11″ Build Your Own Pizzas with our faves: Classic Crust, Red Sauce Shredded Mozzarella, Fresh Mozzarella, Gorgonzola, Pepperoni, Sausage, Bacon, Meatballs, Chicken, Ham, Artichokes, Black Olives, Cherry Tomatoes, Basil, Mushrooms, Roasted Garlic, Red Peppers, Spinach, Oregano, Chili Oil, Pesto Drizzle, and Arugula. It was excellent! Update: Got the same 11″ Build Your Own Pizzas as before. Excellent as usual! Update: Got 3 more of our fave! Excellent!

This place was weak. Food was just average. Staff was bordline unhelpful. They ran out of plates and a few other things. Water dispenser had to basically be man handled to get it to work. I went in with zero expectations, having never heard of this place, left with a bad taste.
For the amount pizza places in SD, you can find something better. I wouldn’t go here again, nor would I recommend it to friends and family.

I arrived at Blaze Pizza on Balboa at 7:00pm. I walked out of the store at 7:56 with my pizza. There were maybe 10 people in front of me. It took about 40 minutes to get to the front of the line. As I got closer I noticed for every person ordering from the line, the staff put 5 extra slips for on line perchases after that persons order. The line wasn’t moving because they were making pizzas for online purchases 5 to every order they took from people in line. They could not service the people in line because of the online purchases. I would avoid this store. The customers that come in the door do not seem to be very important to the restaurant. There is a great pizza place across balboa, that respects their customers. Oh, they gave my pizza to someone else and gave me someone else’s.

hands down my favorite pizza place! i love how much i can personalize my order because i am a weirdo who eats pizza without cheese. i also appreciate the variety of toppings available. my favorites are artichoke hearts, mushrooms, and arugula, and i get to have unlimited amounts of it on my pizza!! well, as much as it would fit on my pizza-mountain. they also have at least 6 meats available all the time too. i enjoy rotating between combinations of different meats. my favorite meat combination of the month is salami with italian sausage and chicken — with extra red sauce! just to make things even better, they have the half-box that fits exactly half a pizza for when i want to save some for later!
