Fiesta Garibaldi (Johnson Creek): Where Flavor Goes to Retire
Stopped into Fiesta Garibaldi with middling hopes and left with… exactly those same hopes intact. If you’re looking for a meal that screams, “This could technically be called Mexican food,” then congratulations—you’ve found your beige paradise.
Let’s start with the good: the chips were warm, the salsa was passable, and no one yelled at me. The staff was friendly in that “we know this isn’t great but we’re trying our best” sort of way. The decor tried its hardest to convince me I was somewhere festive, but the food politely reminded me I was, in fact, still in Johnson Creek.
I ordered the fajitas, which tasted like someone once read a Wikipedia article on Mexico and then attempted a culinary tribute using only items found in a Midwestern gas station. The rice was fluffy but flavorless, like the culinary version of elevator music. The beans had the consistency of paste and the enthusiasm of a bored substitute teacher.
Nothing was outright bad—it all hovered somewhere between “I guess this is food” and “we could’ve just had frozen burritos at home and saved $40.” You know a place is aggressively average when your post-meal thought is, “Well, I’m not mad. Just disappointed.”
I won’t be back, but I wish them well in their continued pursuit of mediocrity. If you’re in the mood for Mexican food but don’t want your taste buds to feel anything too exciting, Fiesta Garibaldi is your safe space.

Absolutely loved this place! The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The tacos were perfectly seasoned, the portions were generous, and everything came out hot and fast. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. You can really tell they take pride in their food. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this spot to others!

The place is under new management, I can tell cuz smaller portions and ate with my jacket on. It was cold in there. Supposed to be comfortable when you are eating in a establishment that’s not afraid to charge. There’s lots of other Mexican food places to eat.

I don’t know if anyone will ever be able to be at our beloved “La Hacienda” in Madison for top Mexican restaurant… but if a restaurant could it would be Fiesta Garibaldi in Johnson Creek. The food is outstanding, the staff is friendly and amazing…all boxes checked for the Wannebo’s anyway. Great celebration with the Karls and Eberhardy families.

Decided to try this place again after not having it for a few years. Back then, it was very good. Now, its the total opposite. All the food was EXTREMELY bland and looked like it was canned or pre-made. The cheese dip looked/smelled/tasted horrible – definitely NOT worth $10!! Nothing we got this time tasted or looked homemade or was seasoned. Very very poor quality food and poor presentation/preparation. Total waste of money and we wont be back!! Take your business to the other restaurant in town that actually takes pride in their food!

Great place to visit and sit down in all midwest this has to be the best mexican restaurant ive been to mexican restaurants in like 32 states most in wisconsin illinois and a few other places but this restaurant is by far the best me and my fiance enjoyed fresh food and friendly customer service aswell.Highly recommend.
