This was my first time trying Nigerian cuisine but not my first time trying fufu. I really liked the ambience, it has a more upscale, classy vibe. Service is very friendly and they’re quick to offer suggestions. Prices are reasonable since this is not the type of food that you can get anywhere. We ordered oxtail pepper soup, egusi soup with chicken, and jollof rice with beef. I wouldn’t mind coming back here to try other items on the menu.

-oxtail soup 5 – the soup is spicy but it’s the type of spicy that is very enjoyable. The oxtail is super tender. Make sure you drink the soup when you’re finished.
-egusi soup with chicken 5 – the soup is hearty. You take a piece of fufu and dip it in the soup. Think of naan and how you use it to scoop up curry. It has bits of turkey, beef tendon, and smoked fish in addition to the chicken pieces.
-jollof rice with beef 5 – the jollof rice is tomato based and very savory. You get 2 big pieces of beef and plantains. The beef is easy to cut and it’s tasty.

Absolutely loved this place. The food was full of flavor. First time experiencing Nigerian cuisine and I was impressed.

I recommend the Egusi Soup with Fufu and the Star Beer. We tried with beef and chicken both meats were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I will be back, I have more plates to check off my list. Thanks for an amazing dinner.

Hands down one of the best African restaurants in Chicago. The service is remarkable, and the meals are consistently well-prepared, flavorful, and satisfying. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the food and the customer experience. Every order delivers the same great quality, whether dining in or getting delivery. Highly recommended.

The restaurant and staff were welcoming and the food was amazing! The oxtail soup and grilled fish with plantains were my favorite. The portions are enough to share and still take some home. I recommend taking an extra oxtail soup home too!

Food: First time trying Nigerian food and it was delicious. I was recommended this place by a client of mine. We had the moi moi, honey bean entree, and jollof rice entree. I loved the jollof rice with fish. Fish was fresh and light, not heavily battered. That was served with the best plantains I’ve ever had. As a certified potato lover™️ I do not say this lightly: the plantains were better than potatoes.
My partner had the honey beans with chicken and beef. He said he really liked it, but it was just on the spicier side. The moimoi was very good too.
Service: Excellent, kind, and welcoming.
Atmosphere: It’s very nice inside, with thoughtful details in the napkins and the booth styling.

My husband and I drove an hour and 15 minutes to experience this place and it did NOT disappoint! The food was delicious and the interaction with the workers was welcoming. The dining area is beautiful and cozy.
We enjoyed EVERYTHING we had and definitely will return. We had the meat pie which was delicious and simple. I had the Egusi soup with goat meat which was full of flavor. It has a kick of spice which stays in the mouth and pairs extremely well with the fufu. My husband ordered the whole fish which came beautifully plated with plantains. Now that dish is extremely spicy for those of you who like heat. It is also quite flavorful and cooked to perfection. We shared the Jollof rice with beef and that was SO good. The beef was definitely a great choice with it and again we were hit with lots of flavor. I’m certainly sad that we have to travel to experience this goodness but it was worth it and we will return again!

Tried this spot on a friend’s recommendation, and it was my first time having Nigerian food. The experience was excellent. Great food and a cozy ambiance. I started with the meat pie, which had a soft, warm crust and a flavorful filling. For the main course, I had Jollof rice with beef: the tomato-based rice was savory, the plantains were sweet and crispy, and the beef was seasoned perfectly. My server, Francis, was super kind and attentive. Highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be back!

Insanely expensive. Great service and OK food but wow they really ripped me off. I bought the fufu and egusi and jollof rice with chicken and plantain and that cost $60!! Sixty American Dollars. Absolutely insane. I know for sure they got over on me. There was barely any chicken! I should’ve questioned the bill, but sometimes I just go along with things and I regret that. The fufu and egusi was priced at $27 and the jollof with chicken was $19 yet my total was $60. Anyways, get a receipt ladies and gents. Don’t be like me.
