PoFolks truly made us feel like family from the moment we walked in. We celebrated my grandmother’s 90th birthday. The staff’s warmth and kindness were unmatched genuine Southern hospitality at its finest. The food was beyond amazing, and honestly, words don’t do it justice. Every bite reminded us why comfort food made with love just hits different.
This experience brought back so many memories of growing up in Alabama, surrounded by good food, laughter, and togetherness. We were so pleased that we’ve already decided all of our future family functions will be held here.

Well, I’m a guy. I like food, so blame me. But I’d never spend my money on food I did not like. The dinner of chicken and greens, mashed potatoes, gravy, and cornbread was great. Well worth the money I spent.

Had the country fried steak and was happy with that choice. My sides were just ok but the hushpuppies were really good.
My husband on the other hand wished he didnt order the sausage with beans and rice. I can agree, that wasnt a fulfilling meal as hoped for.
The service was good though and prices are affordable.

The many years I have lived in Pensacola, I never been to PoFolks. I have to say, the fried chicken was delicious. The sides were all mid, nothing to run out to get. I would eat the fried chicken any day of the week. Would be back for the fried chicken. That is all. Very reasonable price.

Picked up my online order at 4:54pm and when I got home to eat my chicken and dumplings I noticed that all 4 bowls smelled sour like it was spoiled. Took a bite and the soup itself was sour tasting, could not continue to eat it because it tasted so bad. My brother took a bite of his mac and cheese and he said it tasted like soap.
Whenever your food smell or taste sour is due to fermentation from bacteria if left too long at room temp that means theres bacteria growth in the food and it been sitting in the warmer for a long time creating that sour smell from spoiled ingredients or buttermilk. I would like to get a refund for those 4 bowls of chicken and dumplings and 2 sides of mac and cheese!

3. Shrimp Poboy Sandwhich, fried Okra, & with a Coke
1. Grilled Jumbo Shrimp was a bit salty & I could taste a iodine in the shrimp. (Had me wondering where the shrimp is from….I absolutely hate that taste in my shrimp) Also kinda wondered if the greens were from a can?? Fried Apples were not warm. (I don’t know if they’re supposed to be…)
2. LOVED it all except the sliced tomatoes. She said they didn’t taste ripe even though they looked it. Added salt. RECOMMEND: Get a side thats worth it! (Gravy is in a bowl on the side)
3. The Shrimp was small like popcorn Shrimp or salad Shrimp, BREADED, & Fried. He commented while eating….I should have gotten something else! (Half was left & that’s how I know he did not like it!) I guess I was expecting bigger shrimp & not so Breaded on the shrimp. He removed the bread off his okra….

Be careful!!! I ordered online, and, without my permission, I was charged a three dollar tip for pick up. I usually tip for pick up, but not that much, and I prefer to tip cash. She said she could refund it, but it could take several days! So I canceled my order and was told that could take several days. I’m so disappointed! I used to love this place, but… be careful of your online orders!

Food was good, not spectacular though. Chicken fried steak was good. Chicken and dumplings were ok, dumplings a little too firm for my palate. The cornbread was not sweet and I like it sweet. Mashed potatoes and gravy were great. The macaroni and cheese was good but you couldn’t convince me it was homemade. Service was great and employees great. Clean restaurant and great atmosphere.

Aiden was very attentive and checked on me several times during my visit. I wanted some stick to your bones kind of food and that’s what I got! So full.. The veggie sides were a bit bland but the beef tips and gravy were delicious, so tender. And the hush puppies were hands down the best I’ve ever had. They definitely don’t skimp on the dessert portion and I’d say it’s well worth the price! Strawberry shortcake isn’t typically my top choice but it had the best reviews so I gave it a try. I often forget about this place but I’m always pleasantly surprised when I go.
