Great place to dine in, or grab take out. Friendly service, and delicious food. I ordered medium spice, and it wasn’t hot going down, but it was later that evening!

This was my first time coming here and all the food was delicious. I’m a vegetarian and this Alu Gobi and the Veg Samosa was a hit and had a lot left over. Definitely worth the try and the server ( a young man) was very helpful and attentive. Definitely recommend this place . ❤️

This was the finest cuisine experience I have had in many years! I have special dietary needs and the cook and waiter catered to my needs. I felt guilty for being so picky, and they were so kind and accommodating that I felt special! Thank you so much for your service and care!!!! I wish I could give you 1000 stars!

We had a fantastic meal at Sitar Indian Restaurant in Birmingham! My dad ordered the Lamb Biryani, and I went with the Lamb Tikka Masala at spice level 3 , it was rich, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My mom tried the Sitar Biryani (a mix of chicken, lamb, and shrimp) at spice level 4 definitely brought the heat, but she absolutely loved it.

We also shared the onion & garlic naan, which was warm, fresh, and the perfect complement to our dishes. And the mango lassi? Smooth, refreshing, and just the right amount of sweetness to cool things down.

Service was excellent and the ambience was nice

My coworkers and I placed a Togo order here for dinner on my birthday. Food was amazing and they even wrote me a special note for my birthday and added a delicious sweet treat for everyone! Highly recommend!

I pass by this place all the time and decided to give it a try.
Food was tasty but very little chicken came in the order. It was almost completely rice and sauce, unacceptable for nearly $20.

Small place, the quantity of food was quite less. Ordered Paneer Pakora(decent taste), Dal Makani and Matar Paneer but the quantity of each dish was quite less not even enough for 2 people. Even though they didn’t mention in menu, they charge 1$ for each water bottle, and $2.19 for onions.
Not much of sitting arrangement and bad service with a lot of delays.

when I come to this part of Birmingham for work, I stay at the UAB Marriott Downtown Birmingham. One, it is convenient to where I need to go to work. Two, Sitar is right out front! The last three times i’ve been here I have eaten at Sitar. The Tikka Masala, Chicken Korma, Spring Rolls, Meat and Veggie Somosas are ALWAYS delicious, hot and fresh. 10/10 every time. The wait is never long for quality food. The flavors are there and the spice kicks, if you aren’t a spice person do less than medium. I look forward to trying more dishes each time I come to downtown Birmingham.

For the price you pay I say it is totally worth it. Dine in or take out, portions are generous. One Tikka or Korma could feed two people with an appetizer or two for $30 (that’s with tip, don’t forget to tip!).

05Feb2025: uploading more pictures from this recent trip. I got the tandoori appetizer and goat biryani. The tandoori is amazing with a mixture of different meats.

I’ve ordered their food to pick up before and it was really good but I do recommend dining in the food taste even better. Honestly, some of the best food I’ve ever had. Very flavorful and when you ask for it to be really hot, it’s actually really hot. Try the Chicken 65 and get it hot, taste amazing
