Been coming here for years. Love this place. The food is excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food portions are substantial., you will not leave hungry and the prices are fair. Decent beer selection and plenty of spirits to select from. We’ll be back… again.

Excellent experience on our first visit here! Awesome decor, great food and service. Chips & salsa were both very good (thin chips) and we each had a shredded chicken (tinga) burrito.

We just recently had our first experience at plaza Bonita.
Overall it wasn’t terrible but also nothing great or special. For us, it’s not good enough to return. We came on a Friday around 5:30 and it was packed. We didn’t mind to wait and figured that was a good sign. We were told the wait would be about 20-25 minutes. After 40 minutes we checked in and several names after ours were crossed off. Our name was just never called and when the lady realized she skipped us, she was apologetic but it was kind of frustrating.
Anyways, we were finally sat, and our server was really nice. No problem there. The chips and salsa weren’t very good. The salsa was so thin and watery so nothing to really dip a chip in. Just liquid. Food wasn’t terrible but was just okay. The atmosphere is cute inside but really small, hence the wait.

I’ve been reviewing mexican food all over arizona this is by far the worst food I’ve had. I was so excited to try this place because of the excellent reviews. The beans are clearly canned or not made properly. The rice must be bagged. The ground beef taste more like hormel Chile. The “prawns” are just tiny shrimp with the tail left on the sauce on the arroz con prawns is bland. They only give you 3 tortillas. The beer was served in a ice cold mug that masked the mildew flavor of a unwashed tap. The “prawns” where over cooked and rubbery. Im very disappointed in what I hyped up to be a excellent meal. Clearly there are too many retired people from the east coast that don’t know what good Mexican food taste like leaving reviews on here. Never coming back. Its disappointing having a plus atmosphere and service only to be served awful food. Stick to the south side If you want authentic quality mexican food.

UPDATE: NEVER WILL I EVER SPEND ANY MORE OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY AT THE CAREFREE LOCATION EVER AGAIN! THAT BURRITO REALLY HURT MY STOMACH. TMI BUT I WAS PUKING AND HAD SO MUCH STOMACH PAIN, I ALMOST DROVE MYSELF TO THE HOSPITAL FOR POSSIBLE FOOD POISONING. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY EVERYBODY!!!

Ordered for pickup. When we got there to pick up order the lady that took the order forgot what protein we wanted in burrito, once we again told her “asada” she says ok have a seat. Then comes up to charge us. We gave cash and a card and asked to split the bill, then came back had us sign the copy of receipt and charged full amount and kept the remaining cash as tip. We then informed her that this was not what we wanted and she corrected it. We’ve been waiting for about 10 mins then get our takeout. Once we get home I notice my veggie burrito has no veggies just bland flavorless rice and beans. Their tomatoe or whatever wet sauce they placed my burrito on that made everything soggy… was SWEET….disgusting. The only thing that had flavor was the tapatio “salsa” and their runny guac that was just smeared on the already WET burrito. For this being Mexican joint…. this place is HIGHLY AMERICANIZED. I DO NOT RECOMMEND! Also this was our first time visiting. NEVER AGAIN!

Been coming here for years. The staff and crew are consistent and friendly. They know my order and even indulge my desire to learn more español. Great food. Healthy options. Good salsa.

Ate there once about a year ago, and decided to try again. They seated me quick enough, and got my drink then left me for dead. I sat there watching my waiter b.s. with another waiter for five minutes or more. Nobody even looked my way until I got up and decided to leave. On a bright note the pizza place next door had great service, and the food was awesome.

This is becoming one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. I love mole but most places add flour, so I can’t have t because of my allergy to gluten. Here they make the mole how it’s supposed to be made, without flour and not too sweet. Their margaritas are delicious! The atmosphere is great. I was there for Mexican Independence Day and they had mariachi!

I had an amazing experience at this Mexican restaurant! Their fajitas were absolutely delicious, with tender and flavorful meat, sizzling hot on the skillet. And the fried ice cream was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. This place is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine.

Food was ok. Got the flautas. Chicken not very well seasoned. Rice and Beans just ok. The salsa is not the chunky kind – had a hot sauce flavor to it. It was good, just not my preference. One of our meals and one of our drinks was wrong. Server was nice and corrected the meal. Kind of surprising to get more than one item wrong.
