Old-school pizza joint sited in a strip mall, doling out pizza & salad (cash-only).

So many amazing things about this place. They don’t have ready-made pies lying around in glass cases, they make everything fresh, and it’s right in front of you, and you can pay for extra sauce on the side and for a big container it’s $1.35. They sell 18 inch pies and they come out hot and they can keep it warm for you on top of the oven. There are a lot of staff working in the kitchen where you can see them in plain sight so you can trust what they’re putting in your food and their working conditions and they also have a sit down restaurant section in the back. It’s clean and they have condiments for the non-sit down waitress area and they have weight staff in the other section. There’s plenty of free parking at this big shopping mall area. The pizza was good. I just wished the crust were a bit thinner.

Colosseo pizza sets the bar on how GREAT pizza should taste. They’ve been in business for over 5 decades and the pizza never dissapoints. When you enter the facility, you are met with a proffesional staff who are constantly working, creating the best pizza i have ever had the pleasure of eating. I’ve been eating pizza here since 1978. Its always been delicious. If you havnt eaten here yet, you need to.

Went in looking for a slice of a particular pizza, which they were currently out of. Was going to walk out but asked if I had a moment. To which I said yes. They made the pizza on the spot and it was the best tasting. You have a new customer. Great service. Friendly atmosphere.

Purchased a plain cheese pie today . Was ready in 15 minutes for pick up… when I arrived back home , the pie was a mess.. no structure, cheese flowing all over , looks like they cut it with the dullest of pizza cutters.. after fighting trying to break off a slice , as I picked it up the whole slice just flopped… as far as taste .. was the most bland pizza I ever tasted in my life … needless to say I ditched the rest of the pie. Truly a waste of 30 dollars ( a pie and two sodas). Definitely will not frequent this “pizza” shop again…

I used to love the pizza here for its price and portion and go weekly (plus tell everyone how great it was). Past year they”ve gone downhill and pizza is like any other restaurant about 35% more in cost and 50% of the portions. This was $9.

I was traveling through trying to make the Port Jefferson ferry, so I only had time to grab a slice. I went in and asked for a cheese and the place looked really good. That’s where it ended.
I have to say the slice was not very good. It was floppy, greasy, and even the crust was chewy but not crunchy. Decent flavor but honestly, I expect better from New York pizza.
I’m from Connecticut, pizza capital of the world.

Now this is what I’ve been hearing about “new york style pizza” (from Florida here)
Though the pie was a little under when we got it home, a few minutes in the oven got it to perfect consistency. We ordered the white pizza and added peperoni to it.
Mozzerella had a perfect bite to it giving great mouth feel. The saltiness and creamy-ness of the peperoni and ricotta paired together wonderfully, and the crust and dough was beyond perfection. If I lived here this would be my go to pizza stop

I placed an order for a pie that was a little on the well-done side. I don’t like doughy pizza, so I always order it a little well done. Never have I ever gotten a pie like I did tonight. What I got was a burnt, overly done, dried out, disgusting pizza. I took one bite and threw the whole pie in the garbage. It didn’t even taste like pizza. All you could taste was burnt. If you’ve ever eaten a piece of burnt food, you know the burnt taste I’m talking about.

We’ve been coming here for about nine years, and even after moving an hour away three years ago, we still make the trip back whenever we can to pick up two pies to take home. Our whole family truly believes this is the best pizza in the entire United States. Absolutely worth the drive every time! Give them a call before you go, otherwise you might have to wait for a while since this place is really popular at dinner time.

I wouldn’t know… I called looking for Chicken Parmesan Hero ( because a family member is hospital and it is easy and traditionally delicious).
I was bluntly told ” we dont do that here.” No attempt to re-direct me to another choice similar or offer to assist.
Extremely disappointed that an ” Italian eatery ” doesn’t offer A classic dish..
I wouldn’t recommend based on lousy customer service & limited menu
