We were all disappointed. The food was not as good as before, my chair wobbled, the overhead lights occasionally flickered off and on, the soap dispenser in the ladies’ bathroom required us to open it in order to get soap from it, and the waiters began removing the salt and pepper and other condiments from our table while we were still eating.
Though we hadn’t been there longer than a usual dinner might last, this made us feel like they were rushing us along, especially when the head waiter began scraping bread crumbs from the tablecloth with a tablespoon LOL!
My dish was average since the chicken was dry.
The soap in the restroom was shampoo, according to the bottle, and the dispenser for it did not work.
I won’t be returning there.
Pro: The waiters were attentive and they aimed to please, although we felt a bit rushed after a while, in a restaurant with many empty tables.
Lots of history and lovely ambiance. If you’re looking for a high end experience, go there!
I will definitely not go back.
The master server did the following.
– We only had one napkin. The master server came by. We requested a new one. He walked off and one was never delivered. We had to ask somebody else passing by.
– I asked for a recommendation. He recommended the most expensive thing in the menu.
– He pulled a plate I was still eating off of.
– He scoffed at my companion’s question about an espresso drink having sugar.
– We ordered too much. And asked for the rest to go. He pulled it. Later we asked for it. They searched for it. It was gone. When he took it I jokingly said to myself that’s the last we’ll see of that. There was no offer to remedy the situation. We wouldn’t have accepted one but it’s the thought that counts.
I hate to think what would have caused this negligence. There was one gracious server throughout that made up for the experience.
