As a latina I always look for latin food places to try, this place was delicious. Food was freshly made to order. Our server was friendly and very attentive but so were the other staff.
Only dish we didn’t care for much was papa a la huancaína, it missed some flavor and personally for me the drink I order, it was good but not the best, a little too sweet for my personal taste.

We walked in without a reservation because it was a late Monday afternoon and we safely assumed there wouldn’t be a large crowd. Fortunately for us, that was the case as it didn’t start getting busy until we were leaving.

The entire experience was fantastic —including the music and the courteous & timely service!

We were a party of four-and-a-half because my daughter was famished, wanting to satisfy her cravings and eating for two!

We started with tapas of causa limeña, ceviche, and a baked empanada trio: spinach, cheese & beef. We sipped on our drinks and quickly moved on to the main course: Ají de gallina, lomo saltado, arroz chaufa con mariscos and chicken strips from their Kids menu. To top off the amazing experience, we enjoyed tres leches and churros with a couple of cappuccinos; both decaf & regular.

In spite of the casual name, Latin Bites Kitchen is a restaurant and bar which also serves sandwiches, soups & salads, family trays, and their menu advertises Wine Wednesdays with 50% off all bottles of wine (check availability).

If you’re looking for authentic Peruvian cuisine in the heart of Houston—this is it!

Loved the food, gotta love good Peruvian food. Went for a birthday and enjoyed all the food. Easy parking, food presentation was great. They do have a cake fee just FYI in case anyone brings a cake. The Jalea was delicious! Definitely recommend!

I absolutely love the food! Just amazing. The happy hour menu has some wonderful deals too.

It’s also not too loud, which is awesome for me. This is my go-to with friends I actually want to hear!

We visited Latin Bites thanks to a recommendation from a friend during a short trip to Houston, and I’m truly glad we made time for it. The experience from beginning to end was wonderful. The ambiance, the soft background music that allows for easy conversation, the lighting, the cleanliness, and the service from our server were all spot on.

What truly stood out, though, was the food. We started with the trio of empanadas, each with a different filling. They were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside, packed with flavor. I had the red sangria with fresh fruit, which was incredibly refreshing, while my husband enjoyed a perfectly crafted Old Fashioned.

For our main courses, he ordered the Churrasco a lo Pobre, which I also got to try, and it was outstanding. I went with the Lomo Saltado a lo Pobre, and every bite was exceptional. The sauce that came with the empanadas was so delicious that I saved what was left and used it to enjoy a few bites of the lomo—it was the perfect match.

To end our meal, we shared their well-known alfajores filled with dulce de leche and had two cortado coffees. Everything was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. The wait time between ordering and receiving our food was slightly long, but nothing unexpected when you know they’re preparing something fresh and worth it.

Whenever I return to Houston, I’ll be sure to visit Latin Bites again. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
