Good Thymes is more than a restaurant—it’s a family-run place rooted in genuine kindness.

The owner’s creative, generous spirit carries through to her son, our waiter, who showed true hospitality. I was dining with old friends I hadn’t seen in years, he totally understood. He gave us time—never rushing us, never making us feel like a burden—just warm, patient, light-hearted service.

He even shared his dream of creating soaps and body creams and generously gave us samples (they’re wonderful).

Good Thymes deserves support, praise, and repeat visits. If you value heartfelt service and good people, this is a place worth choosing.

Highly recommended.

This restaurant is a staple in the Lowell community. Lots of hearty items to choose from, and the dessert options are abundant. The bar area in the back always has a cozy and relaxed feel. Service is great. The taste has changed for me over the years that’s why I’m only giving 3 stars.

What a great surprise this turned out to be. We took our son here for dinner and it was really great. From the outside it doesn’t look like much but the food and excellent service made up for it. Our server was Carlos and he was so nice and friendly a smile always on his face. Super attentive but not hovering. He did a really great job. The food was delicious we got the turkey dinner, fried shrimp and haddock margherita. I have to say the haddock dish was truly amazing. All of the food was great but that was something special. Also, make sure to save room for desert. They make everything there, a huge selection of deliciousness!! We had the bread pudding, apple crisp and the coconut cream pie. It was truly the best coconut cream pie I’ve ever had. Made with real whipped cream and toasted coconut and I’m not sure how they did it but the crust was perfectly flaky. I would go back just for the pie!

Tucked away near the outskirts of Lowell, nestled in an old-fashioned building, is Good Thymes Family Restaurant. Don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you—this place serves up some surprising delights!

Their extensive menu features all-American classics, from mouthwatering meatloaf to flaky fish. The portions are generous, even at lunchtime. My shepherd’s pie was a symphony of flavors, with tender ground beef topped with creamy corn mashed potatoes. The crispy onion rings and melty cheese sticks were equally impressive.

While the food stole the show, the service left room for improvement. Our server was friendly but occasionally inattentive. We hoped to order dessert to go but gave up after waiting an eternity. It’s a minor drawback, but a bit of extra attentiveness would elevate the dining experience.

Despite the service hiccup, the delicious food and cozy atmosphere make Good Thymes worth a visit if you’re in the area. It’s a casual spot with surprisingly good eats, perfect for a satisfying meal with family or friends. Just remember to order dessert at your table if you’re craving a sweet treat on the go.

After a google search for “turkey dinner near me” brought us to Good Thymes three years ago we have become regulars here and go every Saturday night with very few exceptions. The food is always great and sometimes it’s outstanding. We usually get salads, their awesome corn chowder or an app to share. Then we all get an entree and we have been able to make our way through the menu – our stand out favorites are the Prime Rib, the Teriyaki Salmon, the Mediterranean Seafood, The Chicken Marsala and the Baked Stuffed Chicken. You don’t have to go all the way to the coast for fresh seafood – it’s here every day! But do yourself a favor and get at least one dessert to share. We usually get two and sometimes we get one to take home too. Their baker is outstanding and is always bringing something new for us to enjoy. I would tell you who our favorite server is but then her list of regulars would grow even more and we don’t want to have to wait too long to sit with her 🙂 but all the servers we’ve had are friendly, knowledgeable and good at their job. The owner is friendly and knows us as soon as we walk in. She always comes to check on us every week and every week we tell her how great everything is.

You won’t be disappointed if you give this place a chance – maybe you’ll be there every week like us!

First time and we loved it! The waitress was very knowledgeable and patient with us explaining every dish and provided some great recommendations. We ordered, turkey, chicken croquettes, and baked cod. Everything was delicious, and tasted like homemade food. Will come back again for sure!

Good Thymes restaurant is a local favorite in the Lowell area. This restaurant is a great place to bring your family for a nice relaxing lunch/dinner. Good Thymes was my grandmother’s favorite restaurant before she passed away. Certainly a favorite among senior citizens in the area. We still love to come here because it reminds me of my grandmother along with being a great restaurant of course. Great atmosphere, great food and always friendly service. Highly recommend!

I love this place, for old fashioned home style meals. It’s a rare find today. On a chilly night too tired to cook top yourself. ( I’m a party of one) it’s awesome. I love their croquets, chicken parm is delicious. Their desserts. YUM Don’t get me started. Amazing too many to mention. I stick to what I like & they’ve never failed me.
So give them a try you won’t be disappointed. The staff always very pleasant.

My husband wanted a turkey dinner so he googled where we could locally find one that we haven’t tried before. Good Thymes Family Restaurant in Lowell on Gorham street came up. I have heard of it but I’ve never been so instead of doing takeout we decided to go and eat there. PHENOMENAL! Our waiter Carlos was incredible and really made our experience a 10/10. We started off with dinner rolls and butter (I couldn’t wait so that’s why only one is pictured) which were super soft and fresh. I had the baked haddock and scallop combo with mashed and coleslaw. The haddock was super white and perfectly cooked as well as the scallops. My husband got the turkey dinner w/ baked potato and corn. He said everything was perfect. The turkey was moist and delicious. He got a blue moon and I got a root beer to drink. My husband NEVER orders dessert but they roll out all of the desserts they have available on a three tier tray and show you each one, he went with the strawberry shortcake. We will be back a lot sooner than later. We also let the owner know of our amazing experience as first-timers. We let her know the food and Carlos really made us feel welcome and leave as he’s regulars to the restaurant.

Took the entire family and truly enjoyed the experience. Great service, large portions and reasonable prices. We got the chicken cordon bleau, turkey and gravy dinner, and chicken Parmesan. Then we ordered the chocolate peanut butter pie, strawberry shortcake and brownie sundae. Everything was delicious. We will be back.
