This was truly such a treat to visit on a road trip to Houston. I enjoyed a chilled glass of prosecco, the crab cakes, a mug of the jalapeño cheese soup (of the day) and the BLT.

We also had a slice of buttermilk pie and Texas trash to enjoy later that evening.

I loved the community feel, the local flair and the community style seating.

We took a Girls’ Trip to Round Top for the Fall Show. We were lucky to be able to grab reservations at Royers. The food was great. The service was honest, helpful, and hilarious. We had Chicken Piccata, Shrimp & Grits, and Jud’s Great Steak. Everything was delicious – the best food of our entire trip! We had Buttermilk, Apple, and Pecan pie too. All were tasty. The buttermilk is not everyone’s favorite, but for someone who loves buttermilk pie (ME!), this one was awesome!

We came up here for an estate sale. Once that was over we explored the town and ended up here. What brought us here was the burger pictures. Little did we know they are only served at lunch. That was a little disappointing but is what it is.

We settled on Karen’s lemon chicken. While waiting on our dinner they served us bread with two dipping sauces. I’m not a bread eater at all. I ate two rolls. The homemade apple butter is crazy good then you try the butter. Good lord! I could have eaten a vat of that as well.

While dinner was being cooked this place filled up. There wasn’t an empty place there.

Our food came and it looked amazing. The chicken was tender with just a hint of lemon. It reminded me of a German dish I used to get. There was enough for two to three meals. The green beans for me were ok but my grands loved them. Broccoli salad was very good. For me it could use a little less vinegar but was still good.

I’m not normally a desert person. I’m generally full. After reading some of the information on the wall and looking at the menu we had to try the apple pie. I can’t come up with a description that would do justice to this pie. We ate the ENTIRE piece.

The place is expensive so be prepared for that, but the food more than makes up for it.

We were in town for the MS 150 and decided we really needed some home made pie after our dinner. We stumbled upon this spot. It was packed but luckily we were able to get a table. Overall, we really enjoyed the pies we tried, the service, and our hostess was really sweet. We tried rhubarb, apple, peach and chocolate.
We tried a few different pies. Portions are large so next time if we’re in town, we’ll order a lot less. 2 people can easily share one slice.

A must restaurant to have lunch or dinner when you are in Round Top, TX. The bread pudding is awesome, a cross between bread pudding and a cinnamon roll.

We stopped by for lunch and shared the fried fish sandwich with fries (the coating of the fish was a little soggy so it didn’t have that crisp bite you’d hope for) and the grilled shrimp grits (this had a great spicy kick). Both dishes came with generous portions. We also grabbed a slice of their famous apple pie and pecan pie and they were both tasty.

We met up with my husband’s old school chums from 60+ years ago and decided on Round Top and Royers as it was pretty equidistant for everyone. Great choice! Burgers were amazing, fries were most excellent and the raspberry unsweet iced tea was perfect! Needless to say, we all had pie for dessert (I had the junkberry and highly recommend!) and I also ended up getting a whole pie to take home (trying the buttermilk pie!). We had an awesome afternoon in Round Top, and Royers was the best choice. We’ll be back for sure!

5-Star Gourmet Cuisine in a small town in Texas. Every meal hand crafted with flavor and love from owners / Chefs JB + Jamie Royer. While everything is amazing, the Short Rib w/mashed potatoes and the 24-hour brined fried chicken are mic droppers. Thank God that they ship nationwide. Their pies : Each one is mouth watering but our favs are the Apple Pie / Pecan Pie / Strawberry Rhubarb. Bon apetite ‍ ‍ . Your friends at the 9/11 Museum NYC.

First time here, the place was packed when we arrived. With a little wait we were seated. This is a family restaurant, with a little boy helping out (or at least trying to). Wish I had cash, I would have tipped him even though he wasn’t our server assistant.

The food? Amazing! I love trying the local cafes and the food was on point. The shrimp BTL was delicious. The wife had the Burger which was big and delicious also. Both came with a large helping of fries.

Restroom was clean, staff friendly, just had to flag down a waitress for refills even after the rush was over, other than that, this cafe is recommended. Follow them on Facebook to see their delicious food.
