I would like to start off by saying that our server was really friendly and helpful, and the portions and quality of food here was appropriate to the pricing on the menu. But in my personal experience the food here is far from authentic Japanese ramen. The 30 hour ramen was yummy but tasted more like a wonton soup if anything and the toppings of the ramen also felt a bit odd. No chashu, no bamboo shoots, no spring onions, and the seeweed felt more like an afterthought than a component to the ramen.
But overall it’s a solid restaurant with solid food and reasonable prices, perhaps not the most authentic

Good food, great service, definitely a local ramen hotspot!
Recommendations: check the board above for some very good specials. Pictured here are the lobster buns and the octopus appetizer.
Also try the saki flight to test a few different one.

This place is amazing. Food is great, the service is great, and it’s a cute uniquely decorated place. Low lights and nice atmosphere. I love the Bento meals. But everything is really good. One of few restaurants worth me going to multiple times. It’s a favorite of our family. I highly recommend it. They’re dribks are delicious as well. I loved the plum sake. My favorite sake I’ve tried.

We had lunch here on a Saturday. There were very few other customers around 1PM, so it was easy to get a table for two without waiting.
Inside, the decor is eye-catching. In particular, the pendant fixtures hanging from the ceiling, which look like giant sea urchins made out of straw or fine twigs. In combination with the beautiful mural, the effect is dramatic.
The two ramens that we ordered were both excellent. The first was a lobster ramen special ($24) with lobster broth, lobster meat, mushrooms, corn, bean sprouts, egg, spinach, fried basil, lemon, and tempura flakes. It had a rich umami flavor and is one of the better ramens I can remember ever eating. There was more lobster meat than I expected. The second ramen was the shio ($15), which had chicken and was also very good.
If you’re running errands around the Hope neighborhood on a weekend, Wara Wara seems like a great option to stop for lunch before continuing on with your weekend plans.

I’ve been here about 5+ times and it never disappoints. It’s a great place to take your significant other or friends to enjoy small plates, crafted martinis, and great conversation. Their take out and ramen is top notch as well. During my last visit, the plates came out as they were made which indicated that the cooks were detail oriented with flavor and presentation. The plates arrived table side at an appropriate pace and Amanda did an excellent job with reading our table and providing exceptional service. Will return! Great location and easy to find safe street parking. Also, kid friendly.

The service was great super friendly but the food is where it was a miss. The pork bao buns “kimchi” was more of just a wet paste, it had flavor but didn’t add any texture. The tako yaki were really wet/mooshy inside & had some kind of diced crunchy veg in it which was odd & the octopus diced up really small and chewy so you really had to chew each piece. The ramen was the biggest let down though. I got the duck ramen & the broth was so insanely sweet. I ripped the duck apart & added it to the broth to try and get it toned down, & I added an entire side of chili oil as well but it was still so sweet it wasn’t edible. My partner felt the same. The server let me know next time that we could change the broth if we still wanted the same protein. She was great but for $80 to still leave 2 full bowl of ramen on the table with no offered solution was a let down.

A few years back i had an experience at wara wara that left me not wanting to come back but after a long time I went a few days ago and I have to say it really did much better than my last experience, the food was great, the drinks were phenomenal. The only thing is its a bit pricey for 2 people but over if you got the cash and want a great bowl of ramen here’s the spot.

The Ramen is insanely good! The best I’ve ever had I’m pretty sure. I will of course be going back. The front of house however felt so chaotic. I think they might have been short staffed? Whatever the case it’s worth checking out, but just know that its not one of those “oh they got me and I’m in good hands dining experiences” but more a “I feel like they could use a hand”. e.g. the food came out before our drinks and when they asked if they could get us anything and we said that spicy sauce they mentioned, they never brought it. Make reservations if you go.
