Seafood tower for two is excellent and well priced at under $50.00. Steamers and sushi were fresh. Service was outstanding on a very busy day. Legals C Bar can get a bit loud but well worth it. My only complaint is i wanted more steamers! The steamers were an appetizer serving.

We stopped here for lunch and had a wonderful time! Our server, Amy, is a delightful person and did a great job of keeping track of us without being intrusive. The food quality was extremely high as it always is at all legal seafood locations. Most importantly, the special protocol for gluton-free consumers is the best around. Be sure to leave room for desert and try their new Boston cream cake (see the photos).

The chowder is amazing!
Atmosphere is great! Parking is plenty, and the food and drinks are great!!!! We had the tuna, scallops and the fisherman’s platter!
We were traveling up the New England coast and stopped for the night here.

Legal is our special occasion go-to. I had booked weeks in advance on Open Table, noting that it was my husband’s birthday and we would like a booth, quiet and out of the way if possible. My husband suffers from hearing loss. When we arrived they told us they didn’t have a booth open and sat us at a table right behind the hostess station and close to the door so every time someone came through the revolving doors, we were hit with a gust of icy wind. There was no acknowledgment for what we were there to celebrate and no attempt made to honor the reservation and we were treated like we just came in off the street without a reservation, which I would understand, take whatever table is available, but we reserved so that the restaurant could plan. It was early in the evening, 6:30, so it wasn’t packed out yet. We weren’t even offered to wait until a better table became available so we shivered through dinner and couldn’t talk to each other due to the noise. My husband had the swordfish which was dry but he didn’t want to complain about it. I got the shrimp with the flavor enhancement that the waiter suggested, chimichuri. A fresh, green herb and garlic sauce. What arrived was grey and tasted sour. The shrimp were so overcooked I had to cut them with my knife and they were like rubber bands in the mouth. He swapped them out for new shrimp with lemon and capers but these shrimp were also very overcooked and the one I cut into hadn’t been deveined. We all know what that “vein” actually is! I’d expect that at a seafood shack but at Legal?! The waiter didn’t check on us after he brought the second plate of inedible shrimp until we were ready to leave. When I explained why I hadn’t touched my dinner, he stated that Legal just changed shrimp vendors and the new shrimp weren’t as good. No visit from the manager and it remained on the bill. No acknowledgment of the special occasion. We love Legal but this was an awful experience and we’ll certainly not go back to this location. If it’s an off night, acknowledge it. Make amends for it. Don’t just expect people to shrug it off and give you another try. An expensive dinner that was not enjoyable on a special occasion – really disappointing!

My boyfriend took me here for birthday dinner. The waitress, while nice, entirely forgot to put in the order for our entrees after we had our appetizers so it took an hour from sitting down to actually getting our main course. She was ready to give us the check until we reminded her what we ordered. The waitress said that the delay getting food was because the kitchen was busy, meanwhile half the tables were empty, so that was obviously not true. When the entrees finally came, my fish and chips was 100% undercooked. I asked the waitress about it, hoping maybe the type of fish used was supposed to look kinda pink/purple. She gasped, grabbed the plate, and ran way without saying anything. She came back 5 minutes later saying the kitchen was making a replacement, but by then, it would’ve been an hour and a half before I’d be able to actually have my meal. I said no thanks. Luckily mine was taken off the tab, but I just feel bad for my boyfriend who wanted to treat me to a nice dinner. The $2 clam chowder was nice though.

Everything was Amazing, from the moment we were greeted & seated. Our Server was exceptional and very informative about local attractions, etc. She explained where the Oysters were from as well. Great place! Highly recommend!

legal c bar has fresh fish with great presentation, but the execution is not great. i don’t like to leave negative reviews, but i have been quite consistently disappointed by the dishes here. i appreciate the creativity, but for the price they are asking, they need to further test recipes before offering them. its also freezing inside the restaurant. however, the staff are wonderful.

I’ve been a Legal Sea Foods customer for decades, but this visit was disappointing. We had a 7:15 pm reservation for 11 people, including one guest who uses a cane. At 7:10 pm, 5 minutes before our reservation, the restaurant called to say seating might be delayed until 8:15 pm, an hour later.
When we arrived, the manager emphasized that they had tried to call. When we pointed out that a five-minute warning has no practical value, she repeated 3x that they’d called. A better response would have been to acknowledge the mistake and offer a remedy—such as a comped drink or separate tables. We suggested the latter, which wasn’t ideal but worked. Odd that it was up to us to problem solve. We were seated 20 minutes late at separate tables, which would’ve been ok.
It’s disappointing that a restaurant of this caliber couldn’t address a normal delay directly and constructively. A simple acknowledgment of the error would have gone a long way.
