First time at La Mariposa, a place we were interested in sampling since we moved into the neighborhood 3 months ago. We were seated immediately upon our arrival. Not long after many more people came in and in no time the place was full. Wifey started with The Hibiscus Mescal Margarita. Did the queso with chips before ordering a taco salad for the wife and I did the Carnitas Plate. I was very pleased with the flavor of everything and wifey agreed. The ambience is well designed and spacious. A nice place for a dinner date. Our server Alessandra was cute and pleasant, yet professional. Nicely done Alessandra. We will be back. A 5 experience!

Overall wonderful experience. The food was great, I personally loved the Al pastor tacos and my Horchata was perfect as well. My waitress, Marcela, was also so friendly and charming. She answered all my questions and explained everything very clearly. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for outstanding food and even better service!

Last night I came here to celebrate my son’s birthday. We waited at least 10-15 mins just to get our drinks ordered and there was hardly any other customers there. I asked a waitress passing by if they could please sing my son “Happy birthday” and said “Ok,yeah sure.” eventually nobody came by to sing to my son for his birthday. Food was ok used to be better

My wife tends to be a handful whenever we go out to eat. She always has many questions and is loud and obnoxious. I was honestly thinking about leaving her due to her annoying behavior. Most servers can’t handle my wife and end up kicking us both out of the establishment. However, our server Matt was such a kind and welcoming gentleman. He answered all of my wife’s questions to the best of his ability and was able to calm her down when she got too rambunctious. He was the hero of the night and the reason my wife and I are still together. Cheers to you Matt, the best server I’ve ever had! You created the most incredible restaurant experience for myself and I owe you the world. Also the guacamole is to die for even my horrible wife enjoyed it!

She was super attentive from the beginning, & even though i have a 1 year old daughter who likes to make noise & throw everything around she was so patient with her! They put us in the bar because we asked for a booth. The service was the worst we’ve ever experienced. We ordered tacos and as they serve all of them on a small platter. She only brought one small plate. We asked her for another small plate for my husband, pepper, salt and extra napkins. She never returned with anything we asked her for. My husband had to eat off the chip platter. The girl that served us was taking care of both the bar and taking the food orders. There was another waitress that stood next to the bar the whole time who could have brought what we needed had the original waitress asked her. When she brought us our bill she asked if we needed anything else. I told her that she had not brought what we asked her too. She said she was aware of that. She must of told the manager what she did because the manger said she was sorry but she hoped we would understand they were busy. Her apology wasn’t sincere. Never will we eat there again. If you eat there don’t eat in the bar!
