For the main course, I opted for the Midtown Combo plate, and it did not disappoint! The corn tortillas were stuffed with tender, flavorful chicken and cheese smothered in a rich tomatillo sauce that had the perfect balance of spice and tang. Finally the mimosas were perfect balance of sweet mango and champagne
The food was so greasy. We order a beverage and we never get it. The salsa came in a plastic container, and when we as for more chips they want to charge us $1.50. My daughter don’t even eat her food because was so full of grease. They serve her beans in a plastic container like a salsa container, my order came with two hard cold flour tortillas in a aluminum foil just tossed in my food. The service was very poor.
They give us one napkin and one fork, this was worse than a taqueria. We report our concerns in a polite way to one of the servers, but our server was more like ” ok that’s your bill. Don”t worry about the tip.” and disappear. That was not only insulting, we never had such poor service in any other place.
Tip should be earned by the quality of the service, no by percentage of the food consumption. Thank you.
We were greeted nicely and were seated shortly after. It appeared they were understaffed. Our server didn’t know if the corn tortillas served with chili Colorado were white corn or yellow corn,
Our food came to the table looking great. My entree was hot and presented nicely.
My wife loved her Ceviche tostada.
To be honest, I’m not too sure how house- made, the chili Colorado was prepared.
On a walk around Midtown, we decided to stop in and savor. On arrival, you could feel the authenticity that welcomed us while we sat at the bar. We were just there to have a liquid snack, but they gave us delicious chips and salsa to wash down the sangrias.
Being in walking distance, we look forward to coming back for the happy hour.
Their margaritas are pretty good, too. My wife doesn’t drink tequila, so they happily make hers with vodka.
Ordered the Huevos Rancheros, it was delicious! Service was great, friendly and helpful. My girlfriend had the Tanga Tostada off of the lunch menu… she didn’t leave enough for a church mouse…lol.
Only criticism is parking… but it’s downtown Sacramento so it is what it is.
