Perfect brisket. Best we’ve had all year. There’s no better brisket in Texas – bet me.
The Heights location is in our backyard and I wouldn’t go to it. I would rather drive to Brenham anytime they’re open.
Delicious sides – Mac was cheesy, corn pudding was creamy. Sides and meat had good seasoning and flavor. Healthy dark smoke on brisket without being bitter. Very dark bark beautifully smoked.
Fat well rendered. Even salt distribution throughout the meat.
On top of it, I loved that the guys were talkative and jovial. Great music playing.
Perfect weather to eat outside. We might go back today.

Line started to form around 10:30. By 11:00, the line was fairly long. Ordering is efficient and friendly. There is limited seating inside and many tables are set up outside, all under shelter or a table umbrella. The pork ribs were the star of the show today. They were the best ribs I’ve ever had. The sides were delicious too. The mac and cheese was creamy, plump, and even had cooked parts of the cheesy top layer. The tater tot casserole was surprisingly good. The potato salad tasted like a loaded baked potato. And the corn pudding was very flavorful. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I’ll be back for more.

It’s by the roadside. Very easy to spot. The pulled pork, pork ribs, turkey are absolutely delicious…. Sausage.. umm…is also a plus. Inside can only have no more than 15 people including ordering. Only 2 tables inside. Plenty of seats outdoors. I can see everyone including the other customers enjoyed the delicious food with maximum satisfaction…. Recommended!

Arrived right at opening and waited about 45 minutes in a line of about 20 people. Service extremely slow but the do offer free water and Lonestar if you want it. Got a 2 meat plate and to be honest, was extremely underwhelmed by both the brisket and pepper jack sausage given the reputation and price ($30 with a drink). Sides were great, but the meat was fairly dry and not as flavorful as others. In comparison to other BBQ restaurants of same level in SE TX, not worth it in my opinion.

We stopped in for brisket and ordered the brisket sandwiches, a side of potato salad and the mac and cheese. We wanted to try the corn pudding but it was sold out as were other items. The brisket was flavorful and delicious, tender and lean with burned ends. This is the best brisket we have ever eaten. The sides were also really good. The prices were reasonable and not too long of a wait. Highly recommend.

Truth BBQ is Michelin bib-gourmand recognized.
I was soo happy to see it very close to Blue bell ice cream so I made the visit, it’s small cozy has some tables to sit down.
The owner’s father was in the front he was the most friendly person you can encounter in the store he genuinely cares about his customers he was welcoming making sure everyone was happy. Everyone else we’re also welcoming and happy to help.
Unlike other bbqs the menu is limited which is understood as it’s out of no where, the brisket was tender and spot on.
The Brussels sprouts need their own recognition.
Overall I would recommend anyone who cannot make it to there original location to atleast try this.

Hands down the best ribs I’ve ever eaten. Bbq sandwich was amazing too but close to other great places like corkscrew and killens. A bit on the pricey side but worth it. Smaller on the inside too so try and go on a nice day to eat outside.

Have read about this place for years and finally got the chance to stop by and try it. Ordered a two meat plate of brisket and regular sausage to go with tater tot casserole and corn casserole as the sides. Also got a very generous slice of carrot cake. Once home, I divided it all in two as there was plenty enough to do so to make two meals.
I’ll start by saying that the brisket was probably the best that I have ever had! It was so tender and nearly melted in my mouth. The flavor was perfect. The sausage was delicious as well. I had read before that both casseroles were a must have menu item and I have to agree. They were delicious! And finally, the carrot cake was as good as any I have ever had.
If you have never stopped by Truth BBQ or drove by thinking the line wasn’t worth the wait, you would be wrong. The line moved quicker than I thought and it was so worth the wait!

Truth BBQ in Brenham is Texas barbecue done right. We tried everything—brisket, ribs, sausage, and all the sides—and every bite delivered. The brisket was tender with that perfect smoky bark, ribs were fall-off-the-bone good, and the sausage had the right kick. The tater tot casserole and Brussels sprouts were flavorful standouts, but the banana pudding? Hands-down one of the best we’ve ever had—rich, creamy, and nostalgic in all the right ways. Great food, great folks, and absolutely worth the drive.
