Wade’s Place is a cross between a Louisiana diner and a sports cafe’. Wade, and wife, Anne, began selling crawfish and shrimp from a stand next door to the feed store before going into the restaurant business. Steaks are Angus Choice Beef, hand-cut and hand-trimmed. Wade learned from some people in Louisiana how to cook crawfish and ettouffee. If you visit at lunch, consider one of the po boys. We also offer an enhanced outdoor dining experience on our large deck. Since opening in August, Wade’s Place is packed Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays for lunch and dinner. Authentic sports memorabilia displayed on the walls are all for sale and have a certificate of authenticity.

We entered the cafe directly from the shop and went up to the counter to order. My cousins got the fish tacos (grilled) and the shrimp dinner (boiled) and I got the fish/shrimp dinner (fried.) Everything was delicious. I had some leftover fries and ordinarily I would have left them, but they were so good I took them home to eat later. (They had large and small styrofoam take home containers on a cart so you’re able to go and get what you need.)
The atmosphere was very casual and the staff was quite attentive. Overall, I thought it was a good value for the money. I would definitely eat here again.
We love stopping at Wades Place in Chandler on our way through town.
Fast friendly service. In all of the years of visiting, we have never had bad service.
We dropped the puppy off and made our way back to the restaurant. It was myself, my oldest, one of my twins (his name is actually Wade), and their friend.
Wade and myself got the lunch special (crawfish étouffée over two crispy catfish filets, on a bed of rice, served with corn on the cob). My oldest got the 8 piece shrimp dinner and their friend got the shrimp poboy.
Maybe 10 minutes went by and they started to bring our food out. We were all very pleased with everything.
The catfish was nice and crispy on the outside and soft and flaky on the inside. The crawfish étouffée had such a good flavor, especially over the perfectly cooked rice. The older boys loved their shrimp as well. The corn had quite the kick to it, but we still ate it, seeing as it had a good flavor. The fries were excellent by the way.
They all split that 1 piece of cake for some reason lol. They said the flavor was on point, but they felt like it wasn’t that moist. Either way, they left no crumbs behind.
I’m looking forward to trying some of the other options on their menu in the near future. It’s only a short drive from Tyler.
