Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

The food was everything you’d hope for from Whataburger, but somehow even better. The burger was juicy and perfectly cooked, the fries were as golden as a sunrise, and the drink station was so pristine it could’ve hosted a tea party. It’s clear this team runs tighter than a pocketful of quarters.
The service, though, is what really stuck to my ribs. The cashier had a spark—an endearing mix of enthusiasm and charm—that turned an ordinary visit into something special. Their personality was like an offbeat melody: a little quirky, but once it settles in, you can’t help but hum along. The whole place worked like a well-stoked fire—steady, warm, and glowing with purpose.
This isn’t just a fast-food stop; it’s an experience that leaves you grinning like a possum eating persimmons. I’ll absolutely be coming back to this gem of a location, and I’d recommend it to anyone who appreciates good food served with a side of genuine character!
I want to share my recent experience at your location after purchasing a meal for my team at our business — something we regularly do and usually look forward to.
On this visit, I ordered the 10-pack of Whataburgers along with a large order of onion rings and fries. When I got back and opened the bags, I was surprised and disappointed to find that the fries were barely there — the portion was clearly incomplete. Even more surprising, my “large” order of onion rings contained only four rings. At first, I thought perhaps someone had generously added a few extra rings, but I quickly realized that this was actually the full order.
I returned to the store to address the issue and showed photos of what I had received. I was polite throughout, but the response I got made me feel uncomfortable. The staff member insisted that the order had been correctly packaged, implying that I was being dishonest about the missing items. She eventually agreed to replace the items, but I could hear her in the back talking about me and referring dismissively to the situation as “some dumb onion rings and fries.” This caused the rest of the staff to look over, making me feel humiliated and embarrassed.
All it would have taken was a simple, courteous replacement to resolve the issue. Instead, I left feeling disrespected and opted not to take the replacement items because of how uncomfortable the situation had become.
As a result of this embarrassing and humiliating experience, I will not be returning to Whataburger, nor will I be bringing my staff to eat there as I used to. This has completely changed how I feel about the brand.
I hope you take this feedback seriously and provide your staff with better guidance on how to handle customer concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
When I returned to get my refund, less than a month later, they refused to give it to me. The girl manager told me that the manager hadn’t written my name down, so they had lied to me. This was my first and last time trying them out. I would not recommend them at all.
The Team Leader, Cynt, told me there was a problem with their oil today and all the food would be cooked that dark. I asked for a refund which caused her to grab my bag of food and throw it on a shelf behind her.
After I told her I didn’t want to wait any longer for a refund, she didn’t know how to do a refund, she threatened to call the cops on me.
Truly awful experience. Embarrassed in front of other patrons by a horrific employee. Would not recommend this restaurant.
Positive experience from entering to completing meal. Does not feel like a fast food-joint…
We will be back!
