Waffle House is a southern staple and has become part of pop culture and especially the hip hop scene over the last couple of decades. Known for its rowdy late night scene as a popular destination for those under the influence. I had heard lots of great things but had never visited in my 12 years in the south. That changed this week and I have now visited twice and I see that continuing. The vibe is very much old school diner similar to mom and pop Greek diners you would find in New York, but with a southern flare. Service is prioritized, the lobby is set up in a way to maximize efficiency with tables bordering the front counter and food made to order directly in front of you. Prices are affordable and the menu is very customizable to your liking, just describe what you want. In a world that’s becoming more and more distanced and anti social, Waffle House still has that old school breakfast hang out vibe that I very much appreciate, and despite being a giant corporation with tons of locations it remains unpretentious and down to earth. In today’s world knowing this chain is available in so many locations is a privilege and a pleasure.

Came in on a Saturday and it was a little busy. They seated me at a table with trash on the floor and dirty menus. The wait for the food wasn’t that long, but my hash browns were burnt as well as the waffles. They did remake everything, which saved this rating. Usually they are REALLY good. Today, not so much…….

1st time was great food and service.
2nd it was ok.
3rd time , coffee was old. Burned toast, bacon way overcooked. Place was a little dirty. Food was bad and service ok.
Today coffee old again, girl took 10 minutes to even come to table. Food was better, only thing over cooked was hashbrowns it was more like tiny potatoe chips.
They should be more careful about fridge, they left open for 20 minutes to put lettuce back in. Careless and food poisoning issues.

The place was kind of a wreck, (the dining area). But, I’m sure it had an eventful night. Can’t remember the waitresses name but she was awesome. Food was great. On a side note, I’m not sure who the man that was cooking or his name. But he is AWESOME. I was there for approximately 50 minutes. And every minute that I was there he was busy doing something.
