I’d love to give this place 5 stars after having several truly great pizzas picked up or delivered, quickly and hot, to my door by terrific delivery drivers. The staff is great there too. However, one out of four pizzas are completely below par. I received one when they were super busy, then grabbed one early there last week (pictured) that was almost inedible. Thin, the crust is stale, soggy, and hasn’t risen. It’s not rocket science, rather caring about quality. Look the pizzas and see if you can tell which one is the good one.

Came by before 9 PM (hours listed as open until 9) and the restaurant was already closed at 8:30. Just a heads-up to check ahead if you’re going later in the evening.

GF Beware: They are NOT GLUTEN FREE FRIENDLY. My son, who is allergic to gluten, ordered a personal pizza Gluten Free this past weekend and was given a REGULAR CRUST pizza. We spent the next 24 hrs very sick. Beware if you are GF.

Ordered a cheese pizza. Cost $35 to be delivered. It was literally bread. Not Pizza. Only a trace of cheese and sauce?? Take some pride in what you do and don’t insult your customers as you take their money. It is a travesty that places like this stay open with multiple locations. Marin living at its best.

My Father owned Brother’s Pizza, a legendary New York Slice in the Bay Area. Therefore I am a pizza snob. He is no longer alive, but would salute Stefano’s for a delicious pizza, and winning the Marin pizza war. I always come here when I am in central Marin. There is no better deal in the entire county than 2 fat crispy slices and a drink for $6.50. Pizza Princess approved. They have a chill table out front to enjoy your meal quickly.

TLDR: Operations difficulties (errors in pizza, closing before time while still allowing online orders to go through, poor communication). Poor mask hygiene by an employee. Not a comforting thought for a small, hot building with people making food for the public during a pandemic.
Hands down best pizza in San Rafael (5 stars for pizza taste). Day to day operations lately has been rough. Ordered a pizza online for delivery and nobody showed up, nobody contacted. Sat outside my apartment waiting for 45 minutes thinking the driver got lost. Tried calling and no one picked up. No one contacted me the next day. Had to go in person. It’s a pandemic, things happen, and I can imagine it’s rough owning a business right now so didn’t hold it against them, just asked for a refund and ordered a pizza to go.
Bummed out that tonight had another set of mishaps, though it looked like the workers were young so I wanted to give them a break (no salt in the pizza dough and left me waiting on the phone line) The mask issue is too much. Loosely wearing a mask below your nose and with a poor mouth seal isn’t going to do much to protect yourself or others. If they need new masks, I’m happy to donate some. Secure fit by having a nice seal covering around nose and under chin. If straps are too long, you can twist them a few times, or better still replace the mask.
