The ribs were simple perfect, the BBQ sauce was delicious. My son loved the corn bread, and I loved the French onion soup. The coleslaw was fantastic, and I am still dreaming of the fries.
Will be coming back here for an special occasion
The ribs are obviously the star. Tender, smoky, fall-off-the-bone good with that sweet tangy sauce that Carson’s is famous for. The steaks are solid too, cooked perfectly and super flavorful, and the sides like garlic mashed potatoes and coleslaw are exactly what you want with a big barbecue meal.
The atmosphere feels old school in the best way. Dark wood, busy dining room, families, date nights, regulars. It has that same comfortable steakhouse vibe as Wildfire but with a barbecue twist. Staff are friendly, quick, and really know the menu.
Overall Carson’s is a dependable go-to for ribs and steaks on the North Shore. Not trendy, just consistently great food and a fun classic Chicago suburban steakhouse experience. Definitely worth going back again and again.
We stopped by because we have a friend who moved away and asked me to grab him some sauce… i didn’t want to drive downtown so I looked and never knew there was one in Deerfield. We went in, felt a little underdressed, but they were cool, it was lunch.
We had Scott C., who provided amazing service… treated us like we were old friends from high-school who had seen each other in a decade or more.
Now that we know… we will be back soon!
Carson’s Ribs on Harlem Avenue was our family’s staple for ALL special occasions, growing up. We were heart broken when that location closed and although nothing replaces the memories we had going there, as Mom & Dad were big fans, Deerfield is always on their A-game. The Milwaukee location is just as awesome. It’s nice to see consistent care and attention towards your customers as well as the quality & integrity of their food.
And a drive through for the rib tips so you can eat them messily in the privacy of your car….I mean home.
We started with their warm, moist cornbread—perfect with butter.
Our table enjoyed rib tips, a chicken burger, and a half-pound burger, with sides of fries, Greek potatoes, and creamed spinach. The rib tips were flavorful, and both burgers were delicious. As a minor suggestion, serving the lettuce whole instead of shredded would make the burgers easier to handle.
The ambience was inviting and comfortable, with fast, attentive service. Our waitress was especially friendly and efficient.
Overall, a satisfying dining experience. We’ll definitely return for another round.
