Parkside food truck doling out classic Thai eats such as spicy curries, stir-fries & noodles.

Outstanding food, generous portions, friendly service. There were only 2 of us so we split everything. The order of summer rolls avocado style could be a meal on its own. The rolls came with 2 sauces – one sweet and the other a peanut paste. The Pad Thai with chicken was ginormous! As we ate, it was like we weren’t making a dent at all. Washed it all down with Thai iced tea.
There’s a tent with tables & chairs for easy dining.

With an overall 4.7 star google rating, we had high hopes for this place, but it just didn’t hit that mark. We were very glad to see a covered tent with a lot of tables adjacent to the food truck as the weather turned between the time we ordered and the time our food arrived (about 15-20 minutes to get our food as there were a number of orders in front of ours).
At the ordering window, there is a sign that they prefer cash, so that’s what we did. When our name was called to pick up our order, it was heavy — so the amount of food is plentiful, and the price was reasonable ($50 total, and we had plenty of leftovers).
We ordered the summer rolls (2 rolls, cut in half) with shrimp which were really fresh and the side sauces were great. We then ordered the pad see ew and yellow curry, both with chicken. We both definitely preferred the pad see ew as the yellow curry had too many potatoes and seemed over salted.
We have been to a number of Thai restaurants in our travels, and the only way we were able to describe the flavor of our main dishes was that both the pad see ew and the yellow curry tasted too ‘brown’ in its sauces rather than having a pop of freshness to them.
There aren’t many choices for food in the Volcano area, so this is a good bet.

Such a hidden gem! This small, cute food truck on a golf course is run by the friendliest ladies. We tried the avocado curry with shrimp (my first time having it and it was so good), chicken fried rice, and spring rolls.. everything was full of flavor. The Thai iced tea was delicious too! There’s a shaded tent right next to the truck where you can sit and enjoy your meal. Portions were generous, we even had to take some back to the hotel. Truly not just “good for a food truck” but some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had.

Excellent food truck close to the volcano. They are very accommodating and knowledgeable of dietary needs. It was a delicious choice for a quick bite waiting for Kīlauea to fountain plus gluten free spring rolls!

You can read Any of the reviews & know this place is worth a visit. Anticipate spending $30+, because you’re gonna wanna get multiple things, for sure. But it’ll be worth it. Their entire menu is amazing, and though making a choice was hard, everything I got was Delicious. Spring rolls with peanut sauce, Tom Kah with shrimp, Pad Tai with Chicken, & the pineapple curry- Large portions. High quality. Feel good food.

I was so excited to try Green Papaya Salad for the first time! It is a local favorite food on Big Island and I wanted to make sure I got it from a place that served a truly authentic version. Tuk Tuk has been in Volcano for a long time and consistently receives the highest ratings. Cut to the chase – I LOVED IT! The papaya and vegetables were crispy but tender and that wonderful sauce was amazing. I would describe the flavor of the sauce as lightly sweet, citrusy, with a hint of umami. It perfectly compliments the veggies and those Spanish peanuts add the perfect crunch and saltiness. The girl who waited on me was a delight and my order was ready in just a couple minutes!

We stopped by this yummy food truck after leaving Hilo, after the volcano.
We had 4 different plates, each was tasty. Very hot (temperature) and just spicy enough.
Service was very friendly.
The spring rolls were yummy, hot, crispy. The dessert rolls were also good.
The coffee was excellent.
Well worth getting slightly off the road.
We were there on a Sunday that had a pet adoption event, it was fun to see and pet some dogs.

We stopped here at the recommendation of a friend, on our way out of Volcano National Park (& following a long day of hiking). We got the spring rolls, chicken pad Thai, tofu cashew curry, and the green tea + thai tea to drink. It was all delicious and portions were MASSIVE so we very easily have enough for another full meal. The service was also very friendly! Perfect stop after a busy day when we were starved for good food—this delivered◡̈
