Contini offers a very sophisticated and elegant atmosphere, though future visitors should note it can be quite cold inside. The noise level is moderate to high but still permits easy conversation. I recommend to make booking.

The service was a distinct highlight, with the waiters proving to be really attentive throughout the meal!!❤️

The culinary experience began strongly, with appetizers featuring an incredible blend of unexpected flavours. The star of the evening was the Venison Pasta, which was unequivocally the best dish. I had a gluten free version of a mushroom/ suasage pasta. It was good. We finished with an incredible Affogato.

Overall, Contini delivers a memorable, high-quality dining experience driven by exceptional food and service.

We took advantage of an Itison deal which offered a 55% discount.
The restaurant is located in a 19th century banking hall with 26ft high ceilings and Corinthian columns.
The Itison menu offered a choice of three starters, three mains and three deserts. There is an extensive menu if not dining on the offer.

Our server for the evening, Avelina, was very polite, friendly and extremely attentive.
A throughly enjoyable visit and we will return

We had dinner here on a Friday evening. We booked and it wasn’t too busy when we got there at 7pm, but it did fill up and the atmosphere was quite loud but ok. Our server, Mary, was very attentive and helpful. I asked whether I could have pecorino on my main course instead of parmigiano reggiano and this was no problem.
We had 3 courses, which were all very good, except that I had the nduja pasta dish, but found it rather too salty. The homemade chocolate sorbet was delicious.

Lovely visit to Contini as always, and what a great place for a pre-theatre meal with my mum. Food was delicious – fried olives and bresaola for starters, mushroom orecchiette and Milanese chicken for mains. Be sure not to miss the fabulous tiramisu! We were looked after by Mary today, who was really lovely and attentive throughout – thank you Mary!

We had a wonderful Brunch today. Everything was fresh and you can tell their produce is of high quality. We were welcomed by the wonderful Orlando, always thriving to do what he can for all customers and such a polite and educated man. Orlando is a credit to the Contini family and ensured our table had a wonderful experience.
Thank you again x

Every time I’m in Edinburgh I have to come here for breakfast, I really believe it’s one of the best cooked breakfasts in the UK. The service is fantastic and the food quality is excellent. I’d recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic breakfast. Next time I come to Edinburgh I will definitely be trying the dinner menu.

I was recommended this as one of the up-and-coming Italian restaurants in Edinburgh and was told it’s worth a try. However, I wasn’t particularly impressed with my experience here.
• Food: It’s Italian fusion, but it didn’t satisfy me. On top of that, I had to wait quite a long time for the dishes to arrive.
• Ambience: Friendly and spacious. Perhaps the most unique feature is that the place used to be a bank.
• Service: Friendly, but they need to be more careful — I was overcharged on the bill and there was no apology when I pointed it out.
• Price: On the higher end of average.
