A beautiful, vibrant buzzy Italian restaurant situated in one of Edinburgh’s most beautiful rooms. This former banking hall is modeled on a Florentine Palazzo and delivers everything you want from a fabulous, authentic contemporary Italian restaurant. We source our produce direct from the markets in Italy and change our menus every month with the seasons. Our homemade pasta and delicious Puglian focaccia is made fresh every morning. Our food is perfect for sharing. A fun, informal and very special family restaurant.

Reviews
The service was a distinct highlight, with the waiters proving to be really attentive throughout the meal!!❤️
The culinary experience began strongly, with appetizers featuring an incredible blend of unexpected flavours. The star of the evening was the Venison Pasta, which was unequivocally the best dish. I had a gluten free version of a mushroom/ suasage pasta. It was good. We finished with an incredible Affogato.
Overall, Contini delivers a memorable, high-quality dining experience driven by exceptional food and service.
The restaurant is located in a 19th century banking hall with 26ft high ceilings and Corinthian columns.
The Itison menu offered a choice of three starters, three mains and three deserts. There is an extensive menu if not dining on the offer.
Our server for the evening, Avelina, was very polite, friendly and extremely attentive.
A throughly enjoyable visit and we will return
We had 3 courses, which were all very good, except that I had the nduja pasta dish, but found it rather too salty. The homemade chocolate sorbet was delicious.
Staff attentive. Food fab & beautifully presented.
They don’t serve pizza.
Thank you again x
Very spacious table and seats
Nice atmosphere, just that the table is too big a bit hard to talk and listen if come in as group.
• Food: It’s Italian fusion, but it didn’t satisfy me. On top of that, I had to wait quite a long time for the dishes to arrive.
• Ambience: Friendly and spacious. Perhaps the most unique feature is that the place used to be a bank.
• Service: Friendly, but they need to be more careful — I was overcharged on the bill and there was no apology when I pointed it out.
• Price: On the higher end of average.
