I wanted to try a black owned restaurant while I was visiting Ferguson. I came across this place on TikTok. Once I got it I noticed the decorations & they general set up of the restaurant and I loved how it gave revamped diner. You can order food on the kiosk which I’m not a big fan of because I like to ask questions about the menu when I’ve never been somewhere before. After sitting for a while without any acknowledgment I just went to the counter to see if I could just place an order. I wanted to dine in but I was informed that they were closing early because they had a food shortage. I was lucky to be able to even get in my order although I had already been sitting there waiting for service. I ordered the pasta to which I loved & thought it was excellent. The grits I ordered was horrible. They had no flavor and had a very dry “sandy” taste about them. I also had a fish & chicken entree that was decent. After this poor experience I can admit that I would go back to get that pasta again because it was that good. Next time I’ll be sure to order TO GO.

Stopped into Cathy’s Kitchen for lunch today and left genuinely impressed.

The space is warm and inviting, with an easy, comfortable atmosphere. It’s counter service, which keeps things casual and efficient, but the food feels anything but ordinary. The menu offers a wide selection—entrées, sandwiches, wings, and plenty of options to satisfy different tastes.

I ordered the Italian roast beef sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The portion was generous, the ingredients were clearly high quality, and everything came together perfectly. It’s the kind of sandwich that feels thoughtfully made, not rushed or thrown together.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Cathy herself. She was warm, friendly, and genuinely engaging—very talkative in the best way. You can tell she takes pride in her kitchen and enjoys connecting with the people who walk through the door.

Cathy’s Kitchen feels like one of those places that’s built on good food and even better hospitality. Definitely worth stopping in, and I’ll be back.

I enjoyed the catfish fillet meal that included fries with cheese sauce on the side, hush puppies, and two fried catfish fillets with pickles and red onions. It was finger licking good. Ordering at the kiosk was different. The staff were friendly and helpful. The environment was clean and decorative. Really good experience! I will definitely be back.

Kathy’s Kitchen – Ferguson Review
Stopped by Kathy’s Kitchen and here’s the rundown:
• Seafood Pasta – Honestly, not my favorite. The Alfredo sauce was too soupy and lacked flavor, though the seafood itself was fresh.
• Fish – Top tier! Crispy outside, flaky inside, perfectly seasoned.
• Chicken Wings – Fried to perfection, juicy, and full of flavor.
• Chicken Pasta – A win! Creamy, well-seasoned, and full of flavor — definitely different in a good way.

The area was nice, and even though they were closing in an hour, the place was packed with people still coming in — says a lot about their popularity.

Everything about this place is amazing, starting with the friendly greeting, fresh cook to order food and very clean facility. This was my second time coming and I believe we dealt with the owners daughter, she was very pleasant to deal with both times. We live in LakeStlouis and the drive was well worth it.

It’s Black History Month-1st time at Cathy’s Kitchen heard so much about it. So I decided to support local black owned business-ordered the shrimp PoBoy there were total of 5 shrimp: 3 small 2 medium sized strategically placed on length of all that French roll bread w/ a ton of fries to distract from lack of shrimp- the gentleman that brought us our food asked was everything ok I said “where’s the rest of the shrimp” he laughed and walked away. $17.00 never again. I went, I supported, l won’t be back!

ps- floor was sticky and lil dirty could’ve used a good mopping

We ordered for delivery and food was right on time, nice and hot. The red beans and rice was excellent, and the smoked turkey is a nice change-up. Had it with the BLT, which doesn’t come with a side, but it’s a great combo. The BLT was good, too. We actually ordered the catfish filets but received 6 chicken wings instead, which my husband said were still good and crispy. Overall we would order again, or go there to dine in.
