Casual spot famous for its hefty portions of pancakes, baked omelets & crêpes in a basic setting.

This is a horrible location of the restaurant. I ordered omelettes and asked if I can have a bit more jalepeno peppers and some more salsa and sour cream. Its not written anywhere and the server nor anyone let me, the customer, know that they charge extra for them, and they made the decision to give me how many to bring without asking me and charged for every single one of them without letting us know. The omelette actually tasted horrible with extra jalepeno peppers. The manager came out and kept on arguing with me the customer that all restaurants do this and I told her no and gave her specific examples that other restaurants do not do this and she kept on arguing. Food was mediocre at best and ingredient used were horrible and most importantly, the service and the manager (some young woman) of the restaurant was the worst ever! I am never coming back here, they ruined my day and the worst customer service and worst breakfast restaurant I have been to. There are many other breakfast restaurants around here. Go to Wildberries or Apple Villa instead, they are so much better.

Ordered online for pickup. $48.07 walk in. Pickup he asked. Here it is is all he said. I ask for plasticware. He said it’s in the bag. I asked for extra napkins. He gave me a few. Get to work. NO plasticware. I ate a ham and cheese omelet, hashbrowns, slice of ham and 4 pieces of bacon with my hands. Richard Walker’s pancake house has gone to chit! YOU LOST A CUSTOMER TODAY! Bad word of mouth advertising is very hurtful to any business. Front door person needs to greet customers coming through the door. Act alive. UNBELIEVABLE EXPERIENCE TODAY. CONSIDERING THE PRICES ARE HIGH, BUT THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS!

We used to love coming to eat at this restaurant all the time when it was the old owners. The person who used to seat us was amazing and now as you walk in your greeted with a serious face, barely any communication. I always order the same thing every time I come which is pancakes and I feel like the portions have changed along with the recipe. The butter is now packaged butter and it just throws everything off. It used to be my absolute favorite place to have breakfast and now we are on the hunt for a new spot Very upsetting since I drive an over an hour to have breakfast here. I really thought that when this restaurant was bought out, they would keep most of the famous recipes, but it seems like everything is slowly changing.

Food was great. Our waitress was wonderful but the guy at the front looked annoyed to have to seat us which impacted the rating for service and atmosphere as I felt a little unwelcome. If I didn’t have my little one with me, I would have left but, I promised her that she would love the amazing pumpkin pancakes, which they are amazing. I had a Cafe de olla, it was absolutely freaking delicious!! The bacon was thick and crisp. Eggs were a little wet but, I didn’t ask for well done. Nonetheless, all of the food was great. Wait time for the food was reasonable. It was reasonably busy at 1 in the afternoon. Overall, the food is amazing. If the guy at the front would smile and acknowledge the guest the welcome would have been present. For this, I will stick to Walker Bros on Roselle and Schaumburg road and my go to breakfast/brunch/lunch spot but,I will likely visit them again. If you’re really just looking to have a great coffee, an amazing waitress, and great food this place will not disappoint.

Tip: Watch out for the extra credit card processing fee—they add it on top of your bill.
2-Star Review
Service:
I was the first customer on a Saturday morning, and there was only one server working. While I understand it’s tough to manage everything alone, the service was painfully slow. It took forever to take my order, and even basic things like coffee refills didn’t happen.
Food:
The food was okay—nothing special. I tried the Santa Fe Oven Baked Omelette and pancakes, and while they were decent, they didn’t stand out enough to make up for the other shortcomings.
Extra Charges:
What really bothered me was the credit card processing fee added on top of the bill. For a well-known restaurant chain with locations in multiple metro cities, this felt unnecessary and cheap. It’s something you’d expect from small local businesses, not a big chain.
Overall, the experience was disappointing, and the extra fee left a bad impression.

Everything was great and it was my first American breakfast. Very tasty. The Irish coffee was also very good.

We have been going to Richard Walker for more than 15 years, it’s sort of a tradition. However, the last two times we went we experienced the worst service ever. The waiters don’t show up, don’t follow up and never refill the drinks. The food portion size has reduced and the prices have increased by at least 35%. I would pay more if the food is good, however, they served cold fries and burnt eggs. And what made the whole experience horrible was the check, they decided to charge us for the pancakes that come with the omelettes, they gave us regular orange juice and charged $1 extra on each glass saying it’s large size, and it’s 2% Extra if we use credit card (really?). We decided to not fight the chargers because that would have ruined our morning. BUT lesson learnt – NEVER GOING BACK!! The management pushed this amazing family restaurant to ruins.

I love french toast. Specifically, your french toast. My girlfirend and I visit about one Sunday a month (after church), and she agrees that you have really good french toast. Sometimes we go to your other location too, and I can say from experience that the french toast is consistently good from location to location. Thank you…for everything, not just the french toast (but maybe especially the french toast).

This place is like an old diner. I arrived around 10 am on a Sunday. The restaurant was busy, but there was no wait. The service was good considering how busy it was. They were very nice. However, I would have appreciated the staff checking on me after my food arrived because I noticed my water cup was dirty. I had to call out to an employee to switch it out. The food was great, and arrived pretty quickly. I think the pricing was decent. It’d be 5 stars if my booth was a little cleaner. The table was sticky, and the seat had a bunch of dirt and crayons in the corner. Also, the parking lot had plenty of parking, but the clientele drove poorly. I was nearly hit by someone who cut through the parking lot. I guess he was really excited to eat breakfast. Overall, it was a good spot. I’d return and recommend it to others.
