This is my 3rd time ordering from here and I wanted to make sure I was not being bias but I’ve ordered the same order—Za’atar Chicken Bowl—and every time the same issue; chicken portion is little to none. After eating the 4 chicken pieces from my bowl I am left with a bowl of crispy and uncooked rice and veggies. See the picture, this is AFTER eating the chicken from bowl. In my opinion this place is overpriced and they advertise chicken bowl but it should be advertised as rice bowl.

It was my first time at Roti on monday night and I had a great experience all around. I’m usually quite nervous about the ordering format at places like this because I’ve had negative experiences at places like Chipotle where the employees are rushing you or making you seem like a burden for selecting items. This was NOT the case; she was patient, polite and friendly! Our food was delicious and flavorful and she let us try the falafel which was delicious and not dry at all. I will note that the steak was all gone but we had come at the end of the night, so if you want to have a full variety come a bit earlier in the evening.

The food was really good. I like that you can make your own combinations. I wish they had a few more options for toppings, but they have the usual expected items. I was impressed with the service. It appeared that the cook stepped up to assist with the creating the bowls and checking out the customers at the register when the other employees were busy, which goes a long way. That shows great service to the customer, and great teamwork to his fellow employees. I was impressed.

Roti is like a Mediterranean version of Chipotle where you can make salads, bowls, or pitas by choosing for yourself, or you can use set combinations. I chose the skirt steak and Brussels sprouts bowl, which uses saffron rice as the foundation for sumac skirt steak, lemony Brussels sprouts, grape tomatoes, olives, and garlic sauce. As I was part of a group getting food to go, it was nice to order food that was assembled fast. I was pretty happy with how things went until I saw my companion behind me ordered the same thing as me, and he got bread and I had not. I had to go back to the counter to request that, and the guy didn’t apologize but instead looked peeved.
I found the food to be fine. Very flavorful, the ingredients fresh. It was nicely filling. If it wasn’t for the omission and how it was handled, I would give it 5 stars, but I wasn’t left with a good impression.

I came here the first week it opened and recalled that it was pretty good with a fun atmosphere. So, we decided to try this place again before watching a movie nearby… and was disappointed. The food was expensive for just average flavor. I thought it might compare to Nafnaf Grill, but no. The day we came, the staff was in a hurry because they were busy with Doordash orders, so it wasn’t such a pleasant experience, like I couldn’t even ask what the sauces were… I was just told to look at the list. But I don’t know what was in some of them. There are so many other restaurants in the area so one hopes they’ll try harder.

We stopped for lunch. I ordered the chicken Mediterranean salad and was pretty disappointed. The staff was in a hurry it seemed and my salad didn’t have very many good greens. In the photo I had eaten the greens and some of the tomatoes and vines, and the super dead romaine was left. For two meals, with a tip and 2 drinks, close to $40.

Visiting around the neighborhood, I decided to give this Mediterranean grill a shot for a quick lunch, because it reminded me of a place I really love and used to enjoy a lot in Chicago when I lived there, but am a bit disappointed. Still, the food was good and I enjoyed it, but service wasn’t the greatest. There wasn’t any motivation or friendly service, just service. I believe food, drink or anything gets better if there’s somewhat a friendly or outgoing approach to your guests.
Attention and service to guests makes a big difference. Just a friendly comment here that’s all.
I might give it another try in the future, we’ll see!

Every staff member we encountered were just so pleasant and sincerely nice! We arrived 10 till close (9pm) and I didn’t expect that type of outstanding customer service. The food was extremely fresh and tasted delicious. Was the perfect post workout meal! What an awesome way to close the evening out…with all smiles from those wonderful souls!
