Hawaiian Time has been a crowd favorite for many years and continues to deliver every time. It’s probably the best Hawaiian food I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. While prices have gone up over the years — as they have everywhere — the quality and taste of the food have remained consistently excellent.
Whenever I’m back in the area, I make it a point to stop here, and I would absolutely recommend others do the same. The teriyaki chicken and mac salad are especially standout items and never disappoint.

I was really bummed.
The huli huli chicken tasted fine, although, it felt re heated and not fresh.
The Kalua pork was unpalatable. It was clear it had been previously frozen or recently rehydrated by some bizarre means. Just mush.
The mac salad was good, reminds me of L&L or some local establishment along Kahuku.
The rice was fine, it was actually a bit cold in the middle.
I am going to chalk this up to being right when they opened and give them another go. Its usually much better, although this was my first trip to the West Salem store.
Location is super cool, a former shop of some kind.
Staff were super friendly.

I’m normally not one to complain and I love Hawaiian Time, but what I had today was terrible. I ordered the Mauna Loa Chicken which is what I always get. The rice especially, felt like oatmeal in my mouth. It was cooked to death. And the portions felt like they had been halved from the last time. There were maybe 4 bites of Mac salad in the medium size. And I don’t even know how to describe the chicken other than… not right. I can’t put my finger on what it was but I’ve never had the chicken taste like this before so I guess it’s good I had less to eat. My cat is sick and all I wanted today was Hawaiian Time to cheer me up. I’m just so disappointed. At least the guy in the Drive Thru was nice.

tried to order a meal to go last night. stood at the machine for about 5 minutes with no one helping me as i stood quietly. heard another customer off to the side ask for a manager due to waiting 20 minutes for a new batch of rice. but then was told they would need to wait another 15 minutes for chicken. i kept standing hoping someone would come out and assist those of us standing in line to place our order. sadly the manger and another store representative stood in back talking about who knows what while everyone stood in the lobby with no employees available.
this place was once amazing food that i would rave about to everyone i could tell in hopes they would continue to be in the area. now it is just another restaurant that wants high prices for poor customer service. i suggest saving your money and finding another establishment support.

This is the second time in 2 months we have had a trash experience here. Both times, we noticed a LOT of staff on shift and yet- 5+ minutes to be greeted and mistakes abound. I ordered 1 meal, got it home and found it was the wrong order. When I returned and asked that they make it right- the lobby was closed by 8:45 but they close at 9 a couple staff saw me try the door and ignored me- finally another came to the door when I knocked for a bit- they agreed to make the missing item and did so- it was just some veggies with maona loa sauce…got it home NO MAONA LOA SAUCE ♂️It would seem your teenage staff, dont have much leadership or accountability. Will never return.

I like the Huli Huli chicken, but I’m not a fan of the pork. It tastes like it has a little bit of smoked flavor in it without much other flavoring. Service is pretty quick because they’re not very busy, but the customer service is a little bit odd. For example, if I tell them, I want a Huli Huli Alii, Which is the way they label the meal, they will repeat back so you want a large chicken? That is kind of an odd marketing thing. The restaurant kind of gives the feel of being a little under clean or under kept. In general, I have a mixed feeling, I really like the Huli Huli Chicken And I have had it multiple times, it is not as good as Local Boyz was in Corvallis, but they have been closed for years now. So it is the best Hawaiian food I have found in this area. Definitely a lot of room for improvement.

This place used to be really good, but lately I’ve received absolute garbage-level customer service and the food has been so-so. Several weeks ago I went through the drive-thru, placed my order, and pulled up to the window. I sat there for more than 10 minutes without any employee even acknowledging me (though one did make eye contact with me and walked away).
Tonight I went through the drive-thru and the employee blatantly sighed at me while taking my order. When I got home (30 minutes away) I discovered that they didn’t even give me my full meal. I ordered a Dakine vegetarian plate (veggies, rice, and macaroni). All I got was some veggies. Nothing else. I called 5 times but no one answered (they didn’t close for another 25 minutes). Also they had no answering machine.
Avoid this place if you can.
