The host was very friendly as was our waitress. The restaurant was very clean as were the bathrooms.
We received complimentary tortilla chips and salsa, which was excellent
We ordered a slow cooked pork dish (cochinita pibil) and chicken enchiladas. Both came with a side of rice and beans. After one bite of the rice and beans I realized I could be happy just eating a big plate of that, it was so good. The pork was very tender and flavorful. The enchiladas were good, the mole sauce was the star hitting all the right flavor notes of sweet and savory.
We ordered a mango margarita and it was very generous. We noted that all the drinks that were served were generously sized. The portions of food were also very generous. I’m a big eater and we had leftovers to box up as did many other people leaving the restaurant.
We didn’t have dessert but I heard the churros are a must try so we’ll be getting those when we go back
As it was our first visit, we were eager to explore the menu, which was brimming with authentic Mexican dishes. The ambiance was vibrant, adorned with colorful decorations that perfectly set the stage for our culinary adventure. It felt like we were transported straight to Mexico, and we couldn’t wait to dig in.
Now, onto the food! Everything we tried was incredibly fresh and served burning hot just the way we love it. We started with the complimentary chips which were absolutely delicious when paired with the flavorful salsa. Each bite of the salsa was a delightful combination of fresh tomatoes, onions, and cilantro, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of spice.
For our main courses, we decided to share the birria tacos and fajitas along with some guacamole The birria tacos were rich and savory, filled with tender meat that practically melted in our mouths. The fajitas arrived sizzling, bursting with vibrant colors and enticing aromas. The steak was unbelievably tender, cooked to perfection, and bursting with flavor. Each bite melted in our mouths, and the seasoning was spot on—bold yet not overpowering. The guacamole was fresh and creamy, a perfect complement to our dishes.
What truly stood out was the authenticity of the food. It was clear that the chefs take immense pride in their craft, creating dishes that celebrate traditional Mexican flavors. We could taste the love and care that went into every plate, and it made the meal all the more special.
Throughout our dining experience, the staff continued to impress us with their attentiveness and enthusiasm. They were genuinely happy to have us there, offering great recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed. It was a level of hospitality that made us feel like cherished guests rather than just customers.
In summary, our visit to Condesa was nothing short of spectacular. The combination of fresh, authentic food, welcoming service, and a joyful atmosphere made for an unforgettable evening. We left with full bellies and happy hearts, already planning our next visit. If you’re looking for a true taste of Mexico, this restaurant is an absolute must-try!
We will definitely be coming back for more deliciousness! Thank you, Condesa, for an exceptional dining experience!

Visit during the holidays and you’ll find yourself in awe from the beautiful, over the top decorations. It’s as merry and festive as restaurants that people look for during the holidays in NYC.
The head chef at Richard’s Pub raves about it. When talented chefs who cook delicious meals for a living love a restaurant there’s no doubt in my mind that the food will be delicious.
Need another reason to eat here? Probably not .
