I wasn’t in love with the food. I ate here, but the overall experience was ok. The waitress was really nice. It did take a while for us to order, but I never really complain about that because it gives you more time to be social with your company. The food itself was just not super flavorful. I got the roasted pork with the mixed rice and beans. I expected a lot more flavor with the rice and beans. There was a good portion of pork. I enjoy that. It also came with plantains but very small pieces. And they’re only three. I give this place at three because it wasn’t the worst cuban food I have had but I do not have a desire to go back. It was also very expensive in my opinion.

Best Cuban food outside of Cuba…we’re south Floridians (Cuban wife) and absolutely love this place…every time we’re in town we go.

The food is authentic, the staff is so friendly and welcoming…Laz is the best host…

We highly recommend this place and cannot speak enough on the overall experience.

Many people only leave bad reviews, but this place is simply excellent. Croquetas are top notch. And if you like spicy their hot sauce and and El Habanero sandwich are great.

Go here if you want some good Cuban food in the area. Tastes very homemade, the yuca fries are fluffy inside but crispy on the outside and the plantain chips are sweet and savory. The sandwiches are delicious.

I wish I’d taken photos, but it smelled so good and I was so excited I just dug right in! After leaving a somber experience celebrating a death anniversary we needed a pick me up. Since we couldn’t be back in Miami with our loved ones, we thought hey let’s have some Cuban food! BEST IDEA EVER! We had yuka frita and croquetas to start. Then we had ropa veja, lechon asado and a Cuban sandwich all with maduros and plantains. Then to go we took a small cup of cafecito! It was absolutely delicious! The best Cuban food we had north of Miami. We will definitely be back! A great little gem that is worth the drive!

Love the quaintness of being in a converted house. It felt like we were in a grandmother’s dining room . Our server was friendly and answered all of our questions and even gave us great recommendations.

The cod fritters were fried to perfection. The shrimp dish with the black beans and rice was so flavorful. The pork chop was tasty and fried to perfection. Sadly the arroz con pollo was not a fan favorite. Although plated beautifully, the rice was very sticky and not many pieces of chicken. The sangria tasted like an inexpensive bottle of wine with some cut up fruit. We also ordered the guava and cheese pastry. The crust was flaky but the cheese and guava mixture tasted a little processed.

We would definitely patronize Lazaro again to try more of their tasty food.

Best Cuban spot in town! Everything is good but definitely don’t pass on the Empanadas. Chicken soup was amazing too. Perfect feel good food! For sandwiches I rotate between the cuban, chicken cuban & steak. Very friendly and welcoming.

A friend of mine suggested this restaurant to me. I visited it recently and I was amazed by the quality of the food and atmosphere. I was served by Chloe and she had a great attitude.I ordered a Cuban sandwich, it was awesome. The sandwich was the best Cuban I’ve ever had and I had 100’s.I will go there again.

Great cuban food. Very comparable for Cuban that we’ve I had in Miami. Recommend the Cubanos and Skirt Steak and chimichurri sauce. So gooood. Will have to come back here when we’re in the area.

Tonight was my second visit to Lazaro’s, a spur-of-the-moment trip with a friend, after class.

Y’all. I grew up in Florida, and let me tell you, this place is the real deal. The food. The decor, the atmosphere.

Omg the food. I wish I’d thought to take pictures when it was brought out, but we fell on our food like hungry feral raccoons, and by the time we came up for air, it was mostly crumbs.

We got the small sampler platter for the two of us, and we gorged ourselves like hobbits. It included: three empanadas – chicken, beef, spinach + corn, a pork tamale, plantain chips, tostones con mojo, fried yuca, and ham croquetas.

Let the record show that Tim “I Don’t Like Plantains” Harper not only ate most of the plantain chips and tostones, he ordered extra chips for later. I’m lucky I got any off the plate. Seriously good.

We also shared a tres leches, and a guava & cheese pastry, and Cuban coffee. The tres leches was a creamy delicate confection, and I will definitely get this again.

I’ve eaten many guava pastries in my lifetime, and this one was perfect. /sigh

We sat on the patio under a beautiful spreading tree. It was daylight, so the lights weren’t on, but I can tell you from my previous visit, once it’s dark and the tree lights are on, it’s like a fairyland, set to a backdrop of Cuban music.
