defended Waffle House in situations where I probably shouldn’t have… but the Blythewood, SC location broke me. Both plates arrived with hair. Not one. Not the same hair. TWO DIFFERENT HAIRS in BOTH plates. That’s not an accident—that’s a team effort.

I didn’t realize I was ordering the “Chef’s Personal DNA Sampler.” Somewhere in that kitchen, hairnets are apparently just a suggestion.

Waffle House is supposed to be greasy comfort food served with chaos, not a forensic investigation. I came hungry and left traumatized, wondering how many more strands didn’t get caught.
Absolutely foul. Do better.

Worst of all? We still paid for both meals.

Ive had better experiences and worse honeslty. The service was ok and the atmosphere seems kindof dull or like no one wanted to be there, they did the orders in and out fast but the food was horrible, I couldnt even eat it and its very rare for that happen, especially with waffle house, but it tasted like straight LARD/ incredibly oily the grits and eggs floated around in the bowl from all the grease. You couldnt even taste anything but grease honeslty

Ordered a All Star and waffle on the side, togo. They were pretty busy, when I arrived my order was ready. I got my order and left. When I got home I realized the extra waffle wasn’t included. I tried to call the restaurant but wasn’t able to reach a human. I left a complaint on the website, within 15 minutes a Store Manager called me and was very polite and professional. Missing waffle issue was resolved. Keep in mind this all happened at midnight. Great job to Ryan and staff as far as I’m concerned. A+++ service.

The Worst Waffle House in America – Blythewood, SC

Unfortunately, this Waffle House location in Blythewood, SC, ranks as the worst I have ever visited. While the exterior and curb appeal initially gave me hope (reason for the 1 star), the experience quickly deteriorated once inside.

The restaurant was unclean from the start. I could see grease from the grill built up under the grill. The grill itself appeared neglected, with visible black buildup and burnt food debris. My steak was placed directly onto this surface without proper cleaning. To make matters worse, when I requested seasoning, it was forgotten on the grill and instead applied directly onto the plate, leaving salt and pepper scattered across the dish rather than enhancing the flavor of the meal. The floors had not been sweeped or mopped. And oh yeah, I forgot to mention, my Grits had something hard and brown colored that I fished out of my plate. Im assuming it was Grits once the burn and stick to the bottom.

Cleanliness and food safety should be non-negotiable, yet both were clearly lacking. Based on my observations, I am highly doubtful this location would pass a surprise night time health inspection. After avoiding this restaurant for three years, I decided to give it another opportunity, but unfortunately, nothing has improved.

For those seeking a true Waffle House experience, I strongly recommend the location on South Lake Drive in Lexington (next to Maurice’s BBQ). That restaurant is consistently clean, professional, and welcoming — the complete opposite of what I experienced in Blythewood.

This is one of the worse experiences I’ve ever had a Waffle House… started with the fact that this location doubles as a daycare!!! I asked for well done bacon and I received burnt bacon twice, the grits was cold and lumpy and the waffle was over cooked!! Definitely won’t be back to this location!!! This was a waste if money!!!

Gave 1 star because I have to!!! This visit wasn’t worth two cents!!! I’m not even going to mention the waitress’ service!

I get excited over Waffle House, its clean, fast, good and the staff are talented and efficient. It is not often one has their food prepared in front of you with speed, consistency and deal with the diner all at the same time. I will continue to visit them wherever I go…

Terrible cook this morning. They bought me raw half done country ham without my eggs and wheat toast. Then later served eggs that looks like pimento cheese half raw. My friend eggs were chopped not scrambled. It was the worst of all Waffle Houses. How my meat served before my eggs? Then she served me bread with unmelted butter and the bread was not toasted. Not ever!!

The food is not the healthiest but it’s hot and the staff here is usually polite and attentive. And where else can I get a cup of hot tea in Blythewood at 4pm?

Got pulled over here. 6 points on my license. Had to scrap my car cause no one would buy it and I couldn’t afford insurance anymore. 70 in a 35. My fault.
