This place has the “friendly neighborhood bar” feel to it. Pretty good collection of artisanal beers. We ordered the falafel burger, the banh mi tofu sandwich that is actually vegan and double slices of margherita pizza for the kids, all of which were good. The portions are generous and the pricing is very nominal.
This is right on the main street so parking could be an issue.
1. A diverse trap list full of delicious beers – something for everyone.
2. Awesome garlic and sweet potato fries.
3. A quiet back patio with plenty of heaters if needed.
Importantly for us, this place is also very bike friendly. They have a bike rack in the back of their patio in a protected place for you to lock up.
Such a chilled out place with its own character and feel. Wooden hipster kind of place without being dirty and loud. Low dim lights and small tables tucked in all corners make it ideal for a date night.
First come first seated kind of rules so come early around 7pm or bit later after 9pm to easily get a table. We came around 8:30pm and most of the tables were taken so we chilled by the bar having couple of beers on tap and in about 15-20 min we got a table for four. Definitely easier to find table for 2 🙂
Service is friendly. Food is really good with all sorts of options from salads, sandwiches, pizzas, burger and so on. Good options for vegetarian people as well.
Between the four of us we ordered:
-Margarita Pizza full pie shared by 2. Too big to finish. Darn tasty and cheesy!
– Lebanese chicken sandwich – our friends said was good
– Crab burger – our friends said it outshined the chicken sandwich and was tasty.
Beers were great. They even had Pliny the Elder on tap that Thursday and it was available throughout the night woohoo!
We felt comfortable, welcomed and totally at home. That earns 5 stars in my book. Can’t wait to be back to try more from their menu!
or Ahns for a burger that is well priced and good quality since they can’t even get the meat cooked to order. The only redeeming factor is they have Pliny the elder on tap.
Main issues were the lack of seats at the bar which leads to people just standing at/around the bar so those sitting can’t really see the TV’s.
Also took about 25 minutes to get a slice of pizza.
Drinks are very competitively priced for Oakland so that’s a plus. Overall I liked it just some annoyances.
