I’m very disappointed in the food. I was really excited about going there for the first time. I ordered baked chicken and fried chicken. Side of fries and yams. The fries were awesome and so were the yams. The fried chicken seemed to have been fried in burnt grease and the baked chicken was not done. I still had red chicken juices in the container. I threw away the fried chicken and put the baked chicken back in the oven for about an hour and 15 minutes! I probably should have brought it back but I decided to call it a loss because of how far I live away from the restaurant.

Bad experience with this place both as a dasher and as a customer. 2 times as a customer and 2 times as a Dasher. Called place order over the phone man Otp was very rude for no reason. Then the second time cause I give ppl grace. I ordered fried fish was a turn off taste and smell like they use old grease. That was 2 strikes you don’t get 3 with me. So I was door dashing one day & the internet connection in the parking lot is terrible and couldn’t pick up signal. Had to drive up the street to get signal cause I couldn’t show them the order on my phone . Wouldn’t let me connect to their internet acting like I’m a criminal or something. So they reported me to door dash for getting the order late could have lost my account. Luckily Door Dash knows bout their bad connection issues which is not a me problem. Another occasion had two orders to pick up for customers while dashing. The first order was ready. Guy had the nerve to tell me leave and come back to get the second order cause they didn’t have it ready. No sir that’s not how that works I have to take both orders at once. He may need to get his own delivery person and he can call the shots like that. If I see an order for this place I decline it not dealing with this place. Food smell like old grease again. Every building they move too they don’t stay long. Even the lady in the front rude rolling eyes like what’s wrong with these people. I ride pass and parking lot always empty. Business owners will one day realize the customers is what make the business without them there is no them!

Nice little Black owned hidden gem. Friendly smiling staff, the owner was awesome as well. Check them out great for family gatherings also. I give BIG RESPECT to VELL’S TO keep the atmosphere clean & fresh and no drama as the sign is posted outside the restaurant. So go sober to enjoy the good Food. The carryout was BUSY ON THE SATURDAY WE WENT! #IMPRESSED

6 years ago the good was amazing. Today everything just tasted old! This food was HORRIBLE!! It taste how some old people smell!! I ordered croaker, yams, potato salad, hush puppies, and fries. I ate one piece of croaker and couldn’t stomach the rest. I’m grateful DoorDash gave me a full refund!

After eating here many times I will not be going back. All because I had my own water to drink. He would not let me in his building with my own sparkling water. They do not serve the drink that I had. Refused to serve me with it. If this is how Americans are treating their customers, I want no part of it. Their food is mediocre at best, anyway! This place was hands down 5 star for me and my family! Beyond delicious food and friendly staff. The soul rolls were a yummy unique twist on egg rolls stuffed with baked beans, collards, macaroni and cheese, bbq sauce, and other things. Fried chicken was perfect. If I lived closer I would eat here every week!

Vells Soul Food with a Twist offers a great dining experience with some delicious Southern food. I LOVED the chicken and the Mac and cheese – both were incredibly flavorful and satisfying. The portions are very generous, ensuring you left with a full stomach lol.
The only downside was the service, which was a bit slow due to being short-staffed. However, the wait was absolutely worth it for the quality of the food. If you’re in the area and have a bit of patience, Vells Soul Food with a Twist is a must-visit for anyone who loves soul food!

Delicious food! Variety menu. Clean atmosphere. Friendly staff! Big plates of food! I ordered the boneless grilled pork chops with potato salad and greens, sooooo good!!! Highly recommended! Kids loved their food and ate every bite, too!
My second trip out here I ordered the fried boneless chicken breast, green beans, and black eyed peas and was not let down! Ask for hot sauce to cover your chicken in! Best sweet tea around, too!
