I ate the large rib sandwich with BBQ baked beans and potato salad, and all three were really good. The atmosphere is simple, country, and laid back. I really appreciated the relaxed setting and food quality. If I’m ever in Vivian, LA again, I’ll go back to Outlaw Bar-B-Que.

This nice little BBQ joint is actually on LA Hwy 1 inVivian, LA. The BBQ is good the French fried sweet potatoes are great, the potato salad is a good southern recipe, and the baked beans are actually BBQ baked ranch style beans. I grew up on ranch style beans so, these are great to me. This joint serves fried and grilled fish and shrimp, steaks ( which I’ll have to come back and sample) and of course ribs, chicken and hot links. The sides include coleslaw green beans, and tomato relish. The menu has corn on the cob, fried okra, and regular fries.
I’ll have to return and sample the other fair, but the pulled pork sandwich is the bomb.

Wife had slice turkey with some fresh made fried orka. The meat was so tasteful, so worth the drive from I-20. This Texas Boy got his $$ worth!!
My toddler had the kids meal hamburger, which isn’t a kids meal. They know how to feed her. Big thick patty fixed just like she likes it.
I highly recommend this place!

I found this place to be very overrated and extremely inferior to most BBQ places that I’ve been too. I’m not going to rate based on our experience as I’ve only dined on once and the place is usually steadily busy, so I wasn’t frustrated with the wait. (You want frustration with waiting, that’s where Dairy Queen reigns supreme at here in Vivian, LA!).

The sandwich and fries were okay at best. The meat was dry and there was no sauce of any kind to help. Service was very weak. Once my food was delivered, I didn’t see the waitress at my table again.

Have been there several times. Mostly in a large group, Trail Lizards Jeep Club. Everything is good! But….. your first time you must try the ribs! The ribs are the BOMB! Take it from a BBQ man………… eat the rids!

WORTH THE DRIVE….just go ahead and turn north now, and head that way. I’ve searched most of a 3 parish run for good, solid and loved BBQ that doesn’t NEED a bottle of sauce. I FOUND IT. At first I was skeptical, because let’s face it NWLA, we have a shortage of decent BBQ. Outlaw lost a solid star from me only because they were out of ribs and the beans/potato salad were lacking. But the true star and the only thing that really matters, is the meat.
As a Texas girl, the true test of BBQ is, and will always be, brisket. I’m a true believer of the “fatty burnt ends” and my theory has always gotten the nod of approval from the mad behind the meat…So, go there if you dare, and if you truly appreciate sweet juicy fat…MMMMMMmmmmhmm this is the place. Such a beautiful smoke ring. They really just let the meat do all the work, and it works!

At least as good as any bar-b-que I’ve ever had and better than most, by far! Love it! Wish we had one here in Minden, LA! My only complaint? That they don’t open by 9:30 the 2nd Saturday every June so I could buy it to take to our family reunion! 🙁
