Our party of 3 came for a mid-afternoon meal and some football watching. Service was friendly, attentive, and patient. My fish and chips were very good, and malt vinegar was ready at hand. We also shared the Irish Nachos appetizer, which was very tasty. A nice place to eat and/or drink.

After a morning of hiking at nearby Harper’s Ferry, we decided to get lunch outside that tourist-priced area and enjoy something still local. Paddy’s fit the bill being in nearby Charles Town but off the main Rt 340 thoroughfare. My daughter and her family and I stopped in and asked for a seat on the patio since the weather was uncharacteristically beautiful this February day. They had not put up the umbrellas yet and that would have been helpful.
We waited a long time for someone to seat us. There was a bartender, hostess and two servers in the front of the house. The hostess neglected to bring the requested high chair with her so I picked one up as I followed her. Both available high chairs had no seat belts.
We also waited a long time for our server. She took our drink order and we waited a long time for those. We waited a long time for our food. And we waited a long time for drink refills after being asked if we wanted them. Maybe they were surprised at the level of business for this bright and sunny day, because other reviews seemed to toot a horn for their attentiveness. We didn’t see that. Our food was served by a kitchen worker and he did bring a requested item promptly, so kudos to him.
I had the fish and chips. It was a little greasy, but the Guiness beer batter flavor wasn’t too bad. The fish was nice and flaky and hot. I liked the taste of the cole slaw, but prefer mine a little wetter. My daughter had the turkey wrap and commented that the turkey was nothing special. She usually gets a turkey wrap wherever she goes and says that most times they are unexciting. Both of us liked the homemade fries, cut with the skin on and fried dark. My granddaughter picked at her mac and cheese; it was a little dry. And the bowl was chipped and should never have been used. My son-in-law got the Belfast chicken sandwich and enjoyed it with its extra-thick cut of tomato. He did add mayonnaise.
This looks like a great place to maybe spend a weekend night with some friends. The inside has lots of TVs and the patio includes space for cornhole. There was a fenced deck visible above the restaurant that looked like a good place to sit with a beer on a summer night. This restaurant is inside the “Hip Sips” district and I’m curious what that looks like on a weekend.

I came in for the first time tonight. Came in by myself around 9, and was instantly greeted by a gust hostess. I sat down at the bar and within 30 seconds was greeted by Aly. Got the French onion soup and a Miller. The beer was delivered not long after my request and the soup within 10 minutes tops. I’ve had French onion soups from multiple different locations and this might genuinely be my new favorite. Went with the shepherds pie for my main entree. It was heavy and hearty, exactly what I wanted. Aly and Deb were very attentive and pleasant even with all of the hustle and bustle in the restaurant. I will definitely be coming back!

I am very transparent about my reviews and I know it’s not their place but it does need to be addressed. There is a Cat who someone has fed apparently 3 weeks now who wanders the outdoor patio. We did witness it on a chair and licking the top of an empty table. Not sure if he has any disease or anything. Also a customer could be highly allergic. It would come up to the table to take a peek but a quick shoo away did the job. I’d recommend calling a reputable organization to pick it up. It was a very sweet cat.

Besides that. The fish and chips my partner said were amazing and I enjoyed my Corn Beef and Cabbage.

There is a nice ambiance and the inside is more of a laid back dive bar which is cool.

Highly Recommend this place.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Went to Paddy’s in Charles Town, WV today and was blown away! It taste like home.. Biloxi Ms and NOLA. It was so good I had to go back for dinner and bring my roommate. The Boom Boom Shrimp? Unreal. Shrimp boil isn’t your typical Cajun style with corn and potatoes, but it’s still absolutely worth ordering — packed with flavor. The Crab Cake Sandwich was fire and the Celtic Fish Sandwich was perfectly done. Also highly recommend the nachos! Big thanks to the staff for the great service. We’ll definitely be back!

My mom and have gone here twice over a span of days (3-4 if I’m being honest). We have had the Meatloaf Sandwich, Salmon, Fish & Chips & the Crab Cakes. You simply cannot go wrong with any of these options. I had the salmon, which I would die for. I would recommend pairing it with the orange sauce (if that’s what you are into) as it came as a recommendation from the server. The Crab Cakes were broiled to perfection and top tier. We played some cards while waiting on our food. If you are looking for even a good brunch that accommodates multiple people within a party this is the place to go.

The service is astounding, the vibes are welcoming & the atmosphere is that of which it’s named (an Irish Pub).

The atmosphere is definitely a bar vibe, table seating and a bit loud but we could carry on a conversation. They were busy but we were seated and waited on quickly. Received our drinks right away. A bit of a wait on food but not too bad and it was excellent. I had beer battered cod and the bacon cheese grits and cole slaw. The fish was perfectly fried, not greasy at all. Those grits! I could have eaten just a plate of those, creamy and cheesy. Cole slaw was also good. My husband said his shrimp alfredo was excellent. The sauce was thick and creamy. Mixed drinks were also excellent.

Stopped for the first time at Paddy’s and we really enjoyed it. We got to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the nice weather. Our hostess and server were very nice and polite. We got the shrimp boil for an appetizer. I got the fish sandwich and my kid got the French dip, both were delcious! The handcut fries are very good. Def be back again!

Great little pub style restaurant. The atmosphere is laid back and good Irish style food. The only thing I would say could use some work is their variety of the vegetable of the day. Broccoli seems to be a consistent go to.
