Ended up getting the PARTY DOWN SOUTH which is Shredded buffalo chicken homemade pimento cheese, blue cheese crumbles, cheddar jack cheese with a Lil spicy kick, wrapped in 2 flower tortilla that’s deep fried!!!! Sooo GOOD!!!
Then the KENTUCKY HAUTE BROWN!!!!!
Now this dish was put together very well(great creation)
Tender oven roasted turkey,COUNTRY ham, maple baccon, fried green tomato, cheesy Mornay sauce and melted cheddar over a thick slice of Texas Toast!!!!
I told the sever after I eat this i need a blanket and a pillow lol Comfort food (coma food)
And the Kentucky Bacon pie was very delicious I got it to go but it never made it to the
I highly recommend the haute brown
I can’t wait to try something new next time, also the service was great and it located in historic downtown in La Grange
i expected) cold nacho cheese sauce And sour cream .. not satisfying. Menu looked good was
fun to read And had a variety of items – I ordered the turkey ruben- expected to be grilled .. it was served warm but the bread was dry toasted not grilled –
so crunchy and again i was hoping for a nice soft grilled I sandwich And that it was not – (I missed the yummy salted butter on the bread for a grilled sandwich that i was expecting) the flavor was good but not grilled as expected. I ipcharged the side item for a house salad and that was delicious with the raspberry vinegrette. My husband ordered the Mac and cheese gouda and it was warm cheesy and very good. We were enticed by the again “warm” brownie And vanilla ice cream – how can you go wrong .. except that it did not come out warm . Room
temperature brownie with ice cream .. I sent it back and it came out warm but they could do without the marshmallow filing. personal preference .. positives were that our server was super nice and everyone in there was super nice with a hometown kindness – the drink selection was nice enjoyed our Yengling draft. It was a Monday – 6:30pm And there were just two other 2 tops and us – the room
seats 114.. I think if some of the atmosphere was adjusted and the food prep was elevated to a lever you couldnt resist .. it would be packed in here the prices were fair And for what restaurants have to charge now it won’t take much for the to change atmosphere and some better prep details prior to serving their food which does seem tasty it will draw a better crowd .. also the exterior is a bit uninviting .. with their summer tables pushed up against the glass and the entrance a bit obscure .. could be improved .. we will likely return for something different than mexican And sushi but It woild be nice to see a few improvements..
This sight said this was wheelchair accessible, but I don’t see how. Step up to sidewalk (curb) front door. Ramp to sidewalk was at the corner several stores down in either direction.
If there was an alternate entry, the hostess didn’t know it. I asked. My sister uses a wheelchair, so this is one thing I look for before we go.
We had two burgers with fries, one Haute Brown, and one kids burger with waffle chips. Burger in my picture below was amazing IMO especially if you like big Mac sauce. The burger was the locomotive. Fries are $3.99 up charge no salt or seasoning as goes for the waffle chips. If your like me and wondered what waffle chips are, they are thinly sliced fried potatoes that have a cross cross pattern that look like a waffle. Everyone liked the Haute Brown. my daughter and son liked their bacon cheese burgers.
Service was slightly better than okay, but our waitress didn’t refill our drinks between the appetizer and main course which left the kids thirsty after the jalapenos. 6.8/10
