While visiting my cousin near Indianapolis, I drove by this restaurant a few times and have been wanting to stop and try it as I love good BBQ – so tonight, I did. I am happy to share that they did not disappoint, I highly recommend you stop if in the area. Family owned by two brothers, they deliver what good BBQ is all about. I had very flavorful, fall-apart brisket, the green beans were fantastic, and the loaded mashed potatoes were full of great flavor. The Brisket was great alone, but also complimented with the available sauces. I’m torn between the “Side Street Sweet” and the “Bourbon Burnout”. Maybe a combo of the two would be perfect. I would fail on this review if I didn’t mention the great and over-the-top service from Amanda – Thank you for completing a rewarding experience. I look forward to coming back again.

Backroads BBQ in Lebanon, IN is always a great stop when you’re craving real barbecue. I ordered the pulled pork with baked beans and coleslaw, and it did not disappoint.
The pulled pork was incredibly tender and juicy. I always drizzle the Motorhead Mustard sauce on top, and it takes the flavor to another level. It’s the perfect complement to the smoky pork.
The baked beans were amazing — packed with bits of meat that add that little extra touch of perfection. The coleslaw balanced everything out nicely.
And I can’t forget the cornbread biscuits with the apple butter jam. They are absolutely outstanding and easily one of the highlights of the meal.
Backroads BBQ is a must-stop in Lebanon if you’re looking for great food and classic barbecue done right.

Amazing!!! Staff was attentive and pleasant!! When we sat down we were immediately greeted with warm jalapeño biscuits with apple butter.
Started with the delicious pulled pork nachos!!! You could taste the smoke on the meat and it was delicious. Only suggestion is add tomatoes.
Next the 2 meat with 2 sides. The brisket was phenomenal, the seasoned fries were on point especially dipped in ranch, the Mac & cheese was piping hot and all the food was amazing!!!
Full bar, plenty of seating definitely worth the drive!!

Stopped on my way up North and wasn’t disappointed. Had a special on root beer floats, so I had to have one.
Tried the pick 3 (pork, turkey, brisket) with fries and the premium corn pudding and gave it all I could but left behind a good bit.
Do yourself a favor and get the corn pudding. It was my favorite bite. The meats were smoked well, still moist, and seasoned well.
The sauce choices: Side street Sweet, very sweet, but a great flavor with depth beyond sweet.
Motorhead mustard… my least favorite of the three, still good, but I prefer a more mustard forward sauce, this one felt like the mustard was an ingredient rather than the focus.
Bourbon Burnout… the winner for me and my taste of choice. Strong bourbon front with a spice that builds as you eat it.
Come give it a try if youre traveling 65.

First time visit. They give you biscuits with apple butter..omg. So good! The pulled pork sandwich is delicious and generous! I ordered the french fries as my side and they were just the way I like them. Highly recommended.

I’ve only been here two times and it has never disappointed! Good food along with a leisurely atmosphere and you are describing Backyard BBQ. Food was well priced and good portions. Was on my way to Ohio.

Stopped by on my way back from Indy because there’s no other decent BBQ options near me. This was good, soft bun, good sauce and chicken. My only complaint would be the bones I found in the pulled chicken sandwich, one pictured. Didn’t bother me enough to not finish it, so I still approve, but may order something else if I stop by in the future.

Stopped in to grab lunch to go. Got a brisket sandwich with a side (baked beans). It came with some biscuits and apple butter. Brisket was VERY tender and had a nice light smokey flavor. The baked beans were top notch and the biscuits were a great addition. Tried their bourbon BBQ, which has a little heat, and was really good. I’d definitely go back next time we’re in town.

These were the worst ribs I’ve ever had. They tasted like they were cooked for days in a crockpot of warm water.
The onion rings were good, hence the 2 stars.
The service was next to none. The restaurant had closed and the server was cleaning before she even came to cash us out. No checkin after the food arrived.
