Everything here is top notch. It was a late lunch so the restaurant was quiet with only a few other patrons at the other tables. The complimentary tapenade and bread was tasty and different from the oil and balsamic that is usually on the table. Our server Grace (and Brandon) were friendly and pleasant. Hubby had the fungi ravioli and I had ravioli zucca. Both were delicious and we would definitely order them again. For sure we will be back.

Amazing service on the first floor of a beautiful classic hotel (if you arrive early visit the rooftop bar for friendly service and a great view). I could say alot about the wonderful ambiance, the excellent hosting, and their ability to accomadate a reservation for a large party relatively late, but… the food steals the show- each dish wonderfully plated, presented and perfected. Also, it came out pretty fast!

We tried this place while in town one evening. We were greeted right away and seated. Our server Jesus came by and got our drink orders. Then Jesus got our food order, we tried the Pesto Pizza which was cooked to perfection and the crust was very tasty. The toppings meshed to make a very tasty and delicious pizza. The Expresso Martini was very good and tasted like they used real expresso. We found the restaurant very clean and everyone worked as a team to make sure you had everything you needed. We will be returning again very soon. We tried this place for lunch and ordered the Pork Shank and Branzino both were very delicious.

As a first time visitor I was sorely impressed with Nonna! A beautiful historic building, beautiful restored and updated.

Service was polite and efficient throughout the evening. This was evident throught the evening for myself and other customers.

Plating and presentation of the dishes matched the quality of their preparation. It was a delicious meal that will bring me back the next time I’m in San Antonio.

Great place for special occasions! Every course was divine. I especially loved the table side presentation for my husband’s main course. I will say I like my food hot when I get it and it was warm, but that’s the only reason I couldn’t give five stars in that area.

I wish I can give you guys 5 stars, but the way that you server was yesterday didn’t allow me.
First: I am a pasta lover, and ask her about the Carbonara pasta, before order.
My carbonara was fishy taste… I can’t eat at all… the restaurant smells fishy when probably you are making some kind of dish with fish, but is not a reason.
I didn’t eat any of the pasta, I left my plate kinda intact.
Still I paid the total amount of the bill, plus a tip.
Second.
She ask what was the problem with the past, a d i explain to her.
Well… I guess first-time ( tourist)guess is not your priority.
The burrata was spectacular! Same with the bolgnesse.

Nonna Osteria in San Antonio offers a warm and authentic Italian dining experience that balances tradition with refined execution. From the start, the Insalata Verde and Caprese set the tone of the meal with bright, fresh flavors and high-quality ingredients. The Caprese, in particular, highlighted the simplicity and richness of well-prepared classics, making it a standout starter.

For the mains, the Branzino and Filetto were both outstanding. The Branzino was perfectly cooked, with delicate flavors that showcased the freshness of the fish. The Filetto was equally impressive, tender, flavorful, and prepared with attention to detail that elevated the dish. These entrées truly demonstrated the restaurant’s strength in delivering high-quality, thoughtfully prepared cuisine.

The Capricciosa Pizza, however, fell short compared to the rest of the meal. While the toppings were enjoyable, the crust left room for improvement, lacking the crispness and balance expected from an otherwise polished menu.

Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the ambiance struck the right balance between cozy and upscale, making it an inviting spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. Overall, Nonna Osteria delivers a memorable Italian dining experience, with only minor refinements needed to make every dish shine.

I visited Nonna Osteria for the first time on a bustling Tuesday night. The restaurant was lively and full of energy. My server was prompt, friendly, and attentive. I wish I had remembered his name—he was a great employee!

The architecture of the restaurant is truly remarkable. It’s bright, welcoming, and beautifully designed.

I started with the fried mozzarella appetizer. It was presented well and tasted great.

Everything about the experience at this restaurant was a five star rating except for the main course I would give that less than a three star rating.

I ordered the ravioli stuffed with mushrooms. The ravioli was overcooked, soft, and had too much sauce. The sauce was almost like a soup, and it was drowning out the other flavors. I understand that I’m not in Italy, but they say that when there’s sauce left over on a dish, it means you’ve used too much sauce. It didn’t need that much sauce at all.

I eagerly anticipate trying this again when I return to town.

We had a delightful meal here. They bring toasted garlic bread bites with an olive spread. Delicious! We ordered the Caprese Salad, a classic done right. Fresh, deep dried mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, and fragrant basil with balsamic vinegar – a perfect light start.

For our mains, we indulged in the Ravioli All Aragosta and the Ribeye Steak with Truffle Fries and Asparagus. The ravioli was rich and decadent, with tender lobster filling and a flavorful sauce. The ribeye was cooked to perfection (we ordered it medium rare), juicy and well-seasoned. The truffle fries were addictive, and the asparagus was a lovely, crisp side.

The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable atmosphere. If you’re craving authentic Italian flavors with a touch of elegance, Nonna Osteria is definitely worth a visit!

**Highly recommend!**
