Came in 40 minutes before closing. It meant some of their made fresh food was sold out for the day, example blueberry pie. But it didn’t matter. There were great choices. The food here tastes like someone made it in the kitchen, it didnt come pre made and they just added water. Lots of seniors, which to me is a good sign. We had the turkey soup with homemade bread, hot hamburger, mashed potatoes and dressing for a picker eater and apple pie a la mode for dessert. All was fabulous. Old school & great service!
Came for a 2nd time and took photos. Food again good except fish cakes, not what wed expect, very potato heavy.
Will say bathrooms are entirely too small for wheel chair access.

We had the liver & onions. Food taste good however potato & gravy were on the cool side and liver was just like warm. Only reason I gave the food a three star.

The “local spoon” in Riverview for 35 years! The long lineup at the door means good food. The senior patrons means food that is of good quality and home cooked! The portions are good (though they have lessened over the last few years), you shouldn’t leave hungry!

We had about a ten-minute wait to be seated since they were quite busy for a weekday lunch, which is always a good sign. The menu offered plenty of options, making it easy for everyone to find something they liked. Our meals were excellent, and we all left feeling very satisfied & full. We’ll definitely be back!

If your looking for a place that has that down home feeling, try the homestead restaurant. From the way the waitresses knew peoples names it’s obvious that they frequent this restaurant. We ordered the open faced hot turkey sandwich lunch special.
Everything tasted homemade and delicious. The homemade bread that came with the order of soup was as if it had just come out of the oven at home.
My only regret was I was so full I was unable to order dessert which also looked delicious.
Service was great, food was delicious, I am definitely looking forward to going back!!

Absolutely phenomenal service and awesome food at The Homestead! We had a reservation for a party of 20 for a surprise 60th birthday- the staff were so accommodating, patient, and sweet. The food was a crowd pleaser for everyone and they really went above and beyond to make our celebration so special. Thank you!

Homestead, just like it says. Amazing food. I had the Hot Hamburger Sandwich, and a friend had a hot Turkey sandwich. It’s just amazing food. Service was awesome as well. Fast and in and out. We got there just in time for the 5 o’clock rush. And the variety of Pies is very cool. Didn’t get to try then.
Highly recommend this place.
