I’ve been coming to Elmer’s Diner for years, and it has never been anything special. The only real reason it stays busy is because it’s open 24/7. The food is average, the prices aren’t impressive, and the overall experience has steadily declined.
The floors are sticky, the bathrooms are consistently dirty, and the place feels poorly maintained overall. Parking is a nightmare, which only adds to the frustration. On top of that, there’s no accountability, and honestly, the owner’s memory seems to be just as unreliable as the standards of the business.
2026 will be the last time I step foot in that dirty, sticky floored diner. I would much rather support places like Windmill Diner, Blue Colony Diner, and Three Brothers Diner, which all have stronger reputations and actually take pride in their food and how they treat their customers.

The food was wonderful. I ordered the turkey bacon and turkey sausage with egg whites so so delicious. The food was served piping hot. The service was quick and very calm and welcoming diner. Also ordered the Philly cheesesteak which was also very tasty

It is an emblematic place in CT and I must admit that the service was good, however I ordered a vodka pasta with chicken and honestly the chicken tasted damaged so I tried to disguise it and I took the dish to try to see if it got better but definitely that a chicken does not work there is no turning back, I ended up throwing my food in the trash. I give it 4 stars because my family ran with better luck and everyone loved their meals.

Amazing place to eat. My Wife and I stopped there at random last night for a quick bite to eat, and everything was more then perfect. To start they gave water and homemade pasta salad before we even ordered which was amazing. Then we ordered there homemade nachos which was out of this world followed by a burger and a wrap that was to die for. The service was great and it’s a great family place. Will definitely be coming back.

Their menu has a lot of variety for you to choose from and inexpensive too. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our food was served quickly too! Their portions are pretty hefty for the price. The french toast with their soft butter was yummy, the bacon could’ve been a bit crispier, but the sausage was seasoned well and had a nice snap with each bite. The multigrain pancake were nice and fluffy, wish they were a bit thicker. I’d love to try out their lunch/dinner options, so definitely coming back here again.

We passed by Danbury and felt hungry and decided to stop in here. The food was served quickly and tasted great. Our server was also very nice. No complaints and would come back again.

Late night spot went downhill over the years. Went in, waited 30 mins to get my order taken despite the waitress and waiters seeing our table numerous times. Ordered a turkey burger club, was given turnkey breast club. Told the waitress, Dairy, who refused to accept the fact that they brought me the wrong item. Will never be returning. Also they auto add gratuity to bill regardless of service so you don’t even have a choice. I’d suggest checking grandpas diner or blue colony if you want a late high option.

Stopped for breakfast on our way from Boston to Youngstown, Ohio. Great diner. Large inside. The breakfast menu is huge as well as the lunch and dinner menus. Our breakfast was very good. All of their meal menus had so many good options that I’m sad we can’t try all meals there. And it’s open 24 hours. I will definitely keep this place in mind for the future.
