Delicious pulled pork with vinegary slaw and yummy barbecue beans. The chow chow adds just the right zing, next time I’ll buy a jar. Wish there was a little more sauce, but I’m a sauce gal– what was there was delicious, and the pork was plenty moist. My son got the half pound burger, and that was a thing of beauty! In this age of smash burgers, a thick and super juicy burger is a welcome deviation, and this one was amazing! Of course we had to get a dozen Half Moon cookies, a choice we did not regret one bit. Next time we’re in Birmingham, we’ll be back to try more of the menu!

I gave a five-star rating prior to receiving the salad that I purchased this past Friday. The salad was so wilted half of it had to be thrown out. Luckily I had the smoked chicken on the side. The carrot cake was why I gave 1 star

Went to the restaurant in the drive thru a week or so ago and bought some of the toughest ribs you could imagine. Today I went back and bought a rib sandwich and literally the first bite loosened one of my front bottom teeth due to the toughness of the meat. Be careful as their food seems as if it is undercooked or a poor quality pork. Either way I’m sitting here with a loose tooth and the manager had the audacity to say “realistically what do you expect us to do about it”. That line in itself is going to make me push the issue as anyone knows dental work is not cheap and I have an appointment in a week. I can hear the cash register ringing already at the dental office. I’m scared to death I may lose the tooth. I’m also pissed at the same time that they are selling such a poor product. I’m sure I’m not the only person who has had an issue with the toughness of their food.

The 2 meat sliced pork and pulled chicken plate hit the spot! I had a piece of delicious cake afterwards, because I’m out here livin’ my best life.

I got food poisoning from this location. I normally get full moon in Trussville, hoover, and 280. This was just close by my job and I was on lunch. The rib plate is what I got and I felt fine all day. Just until 2am it all started. I didn’t eat anything else after that plate so I knew it was from here. I’ve been sick since 2am and been getting worse because of this.

Authentic BBQ ya’ll. When you step out of your car and smell the smoke down the street you know it’s going to be a great meal. There are quite a few FullMoon’s around the area but I wanted to eat at the original location. I was traveling south on 65 and it took a bit longer to get to the location but it was well worth it. It’s a small place with about 30 seats, the walls are lined with autographed sports pictures of athletes that I assume have eaten there. We arrived around 3:30pm and half the place was filled but it only took a few minutes to be served. I had the rib plate with coleslaw and Mac n cheese. The coleslaw was unique for sure. It wasn’t a mayonnaise based slaw it seemed to have a mixture of relish and spices. Much different than what I’m used to but it was really good. The Mac and cheese tasted homemade. I wish I would have tried their potato salad because it looked good. The spare ribs had a good smoke ring but didn’t have much of a smoke taste. The chicken my wife had was very tender and flavorful. I guess it’s their tradition to mop the top of the meat with sauce but it works because the sauce had a good taste as well. They also have a spicy chow chow that is super flavorful. Bottom line, the next time I come thru Birmingham I will stop again. Loved it.

Ok SAW is still #1 in Bham but when I stopped in to try this FULL MOON I had heard so much about I was plesanty Surprised. I threw them off when I asked for “Burnt Ends” but “hey” ♂️ ♂️ Ribs were Decent and Brisket was and in generous porportins. What I thought was SLAW turns out to be Chow Chow a condiment I know to be eaten with & on Collards and Mustard Greens! But this Stuff is majic!!! Its like McD’s Secret Sauce but widt more juice & a slight kick. I tend to like Smoke & a little sweet on da ribs side & Brisket too. This will do in a pinch.

The employees are not very friendly but the food is great. I had the turkey sandwich last time and it was very good, including the fries and carrot cake. The meat portions are also very generous.

I decided to make a pit stop at full moon barbecue on my way to the airport after a business trip in Birmingham, Alabama. I was not disappointed. It’s a little corner-street barbecue place you could easily drive by without knowing it exists. I walked in and found an establishment that strives to be friendly and provides great food at a reasonable price. My choice was a simple meal: a half rack of pork ribs and some sweet tea. The ribs were tender and pretty much perfect. The tea was Alabama sweeeet! I will make sure I return in the very near future for an even more substantial lunch portion at this nice restaurant!
