This is my new favorite place to go out in Houston. This Spanish restaurant in River Oaks is absolutely stunning—the décor is gorgeous and creates such a special atmosphere. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent from start to finish. We ordered the four-course tasting menu for $55, and while a few small plates come with an additional charge, every single bite was worth it. Truly worth every dollar spent. I can’t wait to come back.

What struck out to me the most was the trendy vibe and chill environments. The food was elevated somewhat even more so than what the atmosphere sets you up for, which is a pleasant surprise. We did the price fixe menu which was very very nice. Highlights included the liquid Frozen Olive which was very flavorful, the iberico ham on toast which was always excellent. The brands you know skin was so crisp and well cooked and so was the suckling pig which reminded me a lot of how those dishes were cooked at bcn. The little flying saucer at the end for dessert was a nice cute touch. Our server was excellent and added to the fun-loving atmosphere. We would definitely go again, and try the the seafood paella.

amazing. we went here for dinner after a proposal. the filet mignon and paella. pricing is pretty decent. food portion is so perfect— you know you will leave this place feeling full with one main course with or without an appetizer. the service is so incredible. I love the food presentation decoration and ambiance (lighting and music).

One sad thing is they don’t have the MAD Tomato no more. My fiancé literally chose this restaurant to try that dishes. Hope they bring it back soon in a la carte.

Went to MAD for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. The staff was sooo attentive and told us about the artwork, cleared our plates quickly, and checked in on us frequently to make sure everything was going smoothly.

I got a birthday dessert and took some great photos. Will definitely be back if I ever return to Houston.

Vibe was amazing, wife and I felt like we were in Madrid. Our server David was amazing. He took such excellent care of us. Explaining the menus, the history of the restand the chef. The chef what done an astounding job of bringing not only the vibe of Madrid to Houston but the flavor. If your looking for a taste of excellence then stop by and grab a bite. You will not be disappointed.

I went to MAD yesterday for Happy Hour, and had a wonderful experience! This was my second visit, and both times the service and ambiance have been excellent.

We tried the Strawberry Gin & Tonic—it was absolutely delicious. We also ordered the Pulpo a la Gallega and the Bravas Tomás, and both dishes were fantastic.

The atmosphere was lively and stylish, and we loved the décor. We sat at the bar during happy hour, and the bartender was very courteous and attentive. Everyone around us seemed to be having a great time enjoying their drinks. Overall, it was a great experience, and I can’t wait to go back!

Had an amazing time at MAD, the food and drink menu is small but solid. At the begging my friend and I were a little skeptical but everything that we ordered kept getting better and better! It is a tapas restaurant so a variety of plates is a must. My favorite was the filet mignon and the pulpo. The drinks are as good as they are pretty! The place is beautiful with a crazy aesthetic vibe, great for pics.

The only dish we like is one of the appetizers – the mussels are in generous portion and the source is savory. When we asked for more bread, the female server with black frame glasses said they charge additonal bread for 8 dollars. Not sure if it’s only the case for us but be aware if you really want more bread to pair with the source. And there is only one kind of bread they can offer.

The duck breast paella is super salty. There are 6 pieces of thin sliced duck meat lying on the over seasoned rice.

The burger is overcooked and not juicy at all.

They messes up our bills with another table. – another bummer! The server (again, the female with black frame glasses) who messed up the bill seemed impatient and even held my hand to move my phone several angles to touch the post machine when the machine was not responding fast. – it’s very rude to customer who tipped you generously and willing to come back to fix the bills you messed up.

It is rare that I feel the need to leave a negative review, but the sheer lack of professionalism at MAD tonight was impossible to ignore. We came to celebrate a birthday, only to be met with service that would be considered subpar at a casual diner.

The table maintenance was nonexistent. Staff walked past our plates piled with shells and waste without a second thought—a basic standard for a restaurant of this level. More insulting was the blatant dishonesty or incompetence from the kitchen: being served 5 pieces of shrimp when the menu explicitly advertises 8 pieces in bold letters. Why mention 8 pieces if you’re going to arbitrarily put random number of shrimps on the plate. To cap off an already disappointing evening, a massive billing error forced us to return to the restaurant after we had already moved on. For the price point, this experience was a very negative experience.

Heavy velvet curtains and soft ambient lighting. Delicious cocktails and excellent service. But the food – the food took center stage. The descriptions on the menu didn’t come close to capturing some of the dishes. Just know the food is visually enticing, like a work of art in some cases, but always delicious.
