Great BBQ at reasonable prices served up by friendly folks – and white BBQ sauce!

Our family stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon in August of 2025. We were seated quickly and ordered a few baskets of corn nuggets as an appetizer – delicious!

We sampled each of the sauces and most of us really enjoyed our meals. The kid’s grilled cheese left a little to be desired, but the ribs and pork made up for it and we all shared those.

Make sure to try to jalapeno sausage Mac and cheese – it’s great!

We just stopped by on our way home to Tennessee, not realizing that we have the best BBQ in Tennessee.

Our experience here was disappointing. As we were ordering, a woman came in saying she had a pickup, just for them to tell her it was canceled without notifying her prior to arriving at the restaurant.

We ordered our food and waited about 5-10 minutes, which isn’t terrible, just to go out to our car and see that the whole chicken was dry and lacked flavor. The brisket was bland and not very tender; I had to fight it to get it to pull apart. We ate outside our truck because we had dogs, then when it started raining, we were denied dining room access because we ordered it to go.

So I ordered the brisket with sweet mashed potatoes and jalapeño Mac and cheese, and a family chicken meal with baked beans and French fries.

The mac and cheese had tiny noodles, like those found in a Kraft microwavable pack. I didn’t taste any jalapeño or any flavor, for that matter. The sweet potatowasn’t terrible, but the baked beans tasted worse than canned baked beans from the store. It was so bad that we had to go back and ask for another side of French fries, which the cashier, almost didn’t let us have until we asked for the manager.

This place is overpriced. I would not come back, even if it were free.

For starts the food was absolutely amazingly delicious. The atmosphere was spot-on for a barbecue joint. The wait staff was incredibly helpful and then also suggested some of the most mouth-watering barbecue I’ve ever had off the menu. Definitely stop by and give this place a try if you’re looking for a wonderful place to have some barbecue because it’s absolutely Pawesome

We’re sooo glad we stopped here! We were just passing through and needed a place to have dinner. We like BBQ because like who doesn’t? I kind of chuckled at the pizza flag and thought “oh boy.” Walked in and they greeted us warmly. We were seated and our server – I forgot her name but she has a pretty “Always Love” tattoo on her right forearm – welcomed us. She told us about the menu and what we would like and not like. We are ranch and French fries connoisseurs. I was really impressed with the variety of their menu. It offered legacy bbq items as well as creative fusion that you don’t see at most bbq joints. So we landed on ordering lemon herb wings, the turkey bacon ‘dilla, the smoked chicken chimmichanga, and for giggles, the brisket pizza because it did actually sound good. The sides we ordered were fries, sausage jalapeño mac&cheese, and green beans. 99% of it did not disappoint! We dug into the pizza when the food hit the table and then we realized we forgot to take pics!! So please forgive the presentation of the pizza. It was delish. The wings were smoked to perfectetion and well dusted with lemon herbs. The ‘dilla was ‘dilla’icious! The ‘changa was so flavorful! In my heart I know I would have liked it more crispy. But it was smothered in beautiful sauces so I understand. The fries were meh. But you don’t come to a BBQ/grill for their fries so it’s ok. Dipping them in their delectable ranch made up for it. And their sauces! We used the fries to try them all! Sweet, spicy, mustard, white, you name it, they have it! The green beans were savory, tasty, and my husband wanted to drink the juice from the bowl! Last and definitely least, they have no business calling what they served mac&cheese. Where was the cheese? They might be able to rebrand that dish as maybe a pasta with sausage and jalapeños but it was hard to distinguish what the little brown flecks in the pasta was. Overall, it has now became a must stop at place when we are passing through. Run, don’t walk, into this place to check it out because when you leave you will need to be rolled out!

BBQ sandwich was ok and was ample for a meal. Was disappointed by both the garlic bread (flattened in a press and not very garlicy) and especially the BBQ beans, which tasted just like a can of Bucsch’s Baked Beans. Water comes directly from the well, which is likely an inducement to get tea, instead.

We lived in Memphis for several years and this was Just what I’m looking for in a barbecue restaurant!
I really don’t think anything could’ve been better. Had the St. Louis ribs my wife had the baby back ribs and I also got some brisket. Brisket was tender. Smoke was spot on nice fat cap on it not dry at all the St. Louis ribs super flavorful all the sauces you can tell were homemade they were really on point. Highly recommend!

Family and I stopped by on our way home and ordered the whole chicken family bag with fries and baked beans and what was supposed to be biscuits. We also ordered a brisket plate with the jalapeno mac and cheese and the sweet potato mash. Unfortunately, we were severely disappointed and honestly I wouldn’t even consider this to be BBQ. The chicken was very very dry, the baked beans, tasted like that of a school cafeteria, and our “biscuits” turned out to be burger buns. The brisket was very chewy, the mac and cheese had no hint of jalapeno, and the mash was just edible.

While this was probably the worst BBQ place I’ve ever visited, it was the lack of customer service that caused me to write this review. We ordered the food to go bc we were traveling to our home state with our dogs, so we were just going to eat outside. Within 5 minutes of us getting our food together, it started to rain. We rushed to grab our food and hoped to eat inside the lobby since we were in a rush and wanted to be able to keep an eye on our dogs. However, we were told that we could not be in the establishment. We could only dine in or take our food to go, even though we were paying customers. I’d understand if the restaurant was extremely busy and not wanting us to eat in the lobby in the way of other paying customers but the restaurant was nearly empty. As a result, we were forced to have to eat our food outside under the awning like we were at a fair ground.

I wish I could say it was at least decently priced, but I can’t even say that. I’ve definitely had better BBQ, with more portions for less money. Would’ve been money better spent at a fast food joint.

Would not go back again or recommend ever.

Meal was absolutely fantastic. Sausage was everyone’s favorite at our table. Ribs were fall-off-the-bone perfection. The burnt ends were full of flavor and juicy. Service was fine, restaurant was quite empty when we arrived. We will definitely be returning

The burnt ends were awful fatty, Deep fried mushrooms were over cooked same as the onion rings. Ribs I had were ok, little over cooked, little dry. Had to put extra sauce on them to make them little more moist. People were really friendly.

Stopped at big rascals for lunch, hostess recommended the brisket. Sat down in the dining room sweet tea was tasty. My food came and I was not disappointed. Brisket was nicely cooked poured barbecue sauce with some coleslaw on top. It was delicious, if you’re coming through Ocala enjoy the food at big rascals.
