Went there for lunch to celebration a PhD graduation of two dear friends. It was amazing and everyone was impressed with dishes. The beet appetizer was is worth going back for. The halibut was perfectly prepared. I also had the banana pudding with toasted meringue- fantastic. The other folks had the brisket and mustard chicken, spicy Caesar salad, chocolate cake and crème brûlée. We definitely had a memorable celebration! Highly recommended for any celebration!!

I’m so happy we were able to celebrate our Anniversary here again! The food was delicious and their customer service was superb!

We had at least 7 people wish us a Happy New Year and a Happy Anniversary!

It was amazing to see how they operated everything from making the food, how they coordinated with one another in the kitchen, to serving food on the plate.

The Chefs, Director of Operations, and our server, Alban were very attentive to my dietary needs, were so friendly, and down to earth that my husband and I truly enjoyed this night and experience.

Thank you so much for making our night special!

OMG I wish I could give them 10 stars on a scale of 1-5.

We ate at Fearings for Valentine’s Day 2026 and the food was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!!

My wife ordered the Tortilla Soup and said it was the best soup she has ever had.

We ordered so many things and to break them down one by one would take forever so here is a list of what we ordered:

Texas Wagyu Carpachio
Tortilla Soup
Crab Mac & Cheese
Brussel Sprouts
Tater Tots
7oz Tenderloin
Duck Breast
Chicken Fried Lobster Tail
Creme Brulee
Granny Fearing’s Banana Pudding

Items they brought to the table to try:
Tomato Basil Shooter
Southwest Cesaer Salad

Everything was ridiculously good but some standouts:

The Soup was top notch. My wife said if we lived in Dallas she would want the Soup everytime she didn’t feel well because of how comforting it was.

The Chicken Fried Lobster Tail was one of the most unique items I have ever had.

The duck was rendered so beautiful that it didn’t have any of the normal duck fattiness.

The Crab Mac & Cheese was the BEST Mac n cheese I have ever eaten.

My wife and I both thought the Tator Tots cooked in duck fat were likely the best thing of the night.

Steaks were cooked perfectly.

Dean Fearing came by the table and introduced himself and was a truly down home soul.

The music Playlist was totally relatable and from what I understand was music HE loved.

Now for the Peace de Resistance…

The service made the night complete. It made the night special.

THANK YOU MICHAEL SCOTT!!!

You are a true professional and a master of your craft. You made our Valentine’s Day one of the best EVER. We won’t forget the experience you guided us through. When we return we will surely ask for you. We wish you all the success you deserve.

⭐️ Holiday Tea at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas — Honest Review

I attended the Holiday Tea at The Ritz-Carlton Dallas and, while a couple of savory items were genuinely good, the overall experience felt surprisingly disorganized and unpolished, far below what I expect from the Ritz brand or a Michelin-recommended property like Fearing’s.

Food Highlights

The tea sandwiches were the strongest part of the service:
• The smoked salmon & crème fraîche sandwich was excellent — easily the best bite of the afternoon, balanced and flavorful.
• The lobster roll was a close second, generous and perfectly seasoned.

Unfortunately, the desserts were underwhelming, lacking the refinement or execution that typically elevates a high tea experience. By the time they arrived, any excitement for them had unfortunately faded.

Service Issues That Defined the Experience

What should have been a polished, leisurely holiday tea was marred by service issues from the moment we sat down.

Missing Basics
• Our table was not set with teaspoons, which is baffling for a tea service priced at $95 per person.
• After ordering, the waiter poured the wrong teas into both cups and then disappeared for 35 minutes before anyone returned with sandwiches.
• When my tea was finally refilled, I had to request a spoon just to stir it.

Strange Handling of Food & Equipment

Several things felt unprofessional or simply out of place:
• Wait staff consistently carried tiered cake stands down near the floor, rather than on a cart or holding them elevated, which did not inspire confidence in the handling of the food.
• At one point, we watched a waiter have a full conversation with a cake stand by their leg before walking it to another table.
• When our desserts arrived, the server pointed at each item with her finger, trying to describe what she saw rather than naming them properly — despite the menu clearly listing each dessert.
• She even wiped something off the serving stand with her bare finger, which was unsanitary and unprofessional.

At this point, my entire pot of tea was long gone, and I was not offered a refill.

Dessert Delay

Desserts arrived 30 minutes after sandwiches, and because no spoons were provided again, we had to request them a second time — especially confusing since one of the desserts (the peppermint verrine) requires a spoon to eat.

Interaction With Staff

After 1 hour and 30 minutes of slow, confused, and inconsistent service, I finally asked about the lack of spoons and the excessive delays. I clarified that it wasn’t the waiter’s fault, to which he replied, “Yes, it is,” and then told us not to pay for the tea.

We insisted on paying so we could at least leave a tip. The hostess ultimately generated a bill for 11 cents, and we left a $100 tip for the staff. While this gesture was appreciated, it also underscored just how unusual and off-kilter the entire experience felt.

⭐️ Overall

The Ritz-Carlton usually excels in elegance, presentation, and service. Qualities that make experiences feel special. Unfortunately, the Holiday Tea missed the mark entirely. The sandwiches were delicious, but the desserts were forgettable, and the service was so inconsistent and unprofessional that it overshadowed the food altogether.

I sincerely hope this was an off day, because this experience was not reflective of The Ritz-Carlton Dallas or a Michelin-recommended property. As it stands, the Holiday Tea fell far below expectations.

This place has a vegetarian menu and I’m all for it. Let’s start with the bread, make sure you ask for more shiner bread, it’s delicious. Unfortunately for us, they ran out when we were there.

The surf and turf was fantastic. While the steak was what I expected from a high end restaurant, the fried lobster blew me away. My favorite of the night were the vegetarian appetizers. Both the tortilla soup and mini tacos blew me away. Both 5/5. However, I was left pretty disappointed with the Mexican sampler. The spinach enchiladas were okay, while the other two were just bad. You can do vegan/vegetarian entres with flavors and this was not shown in this dish.

We also had the fearing old fashion, which I appreciate the sweet mellow scent vs the typical pungent scotch smell.

If you’re the restaurant at the Ritz, you have a lot of expectations to live up to. For this lunch, they have. I did the yellow fin Tuna appetizer and the Wagyu burger and oh my goodness, both were spectacular. There is no dainty way to eat the burger. So please don’t have your first date there and order that. Of course service was above average, and the atmosphere is what you would expect at the Ritz.

We had high expectations and they were definitely met. The staff in the hotel and restaurant were so helpful and friendly. They went out of their ways to make our visit perfect. We even got a backstory on the drinks we picked. It was a lovely touch. All of the food was excellent. The chicken fried lobster was delicious. The sweet lobster contrasted nicely with the breading. The whole experience was worth repeating.

Our dinner at Fearing’s last night was absolutely exceptional! From the moment we arrived, the service, atmosphere, and attention to detail were flawless. Jesus was our server, and he went above and beyond — incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience feel special.

Every course was perfectly prepared and full of flavor, from the appetizers to dessert. The presentation, timing, and energy of the restaurant made for one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Dallas. Highly recommend asking for Jesus when you visit — he truly elevated the evening!

A great restaurant in an equally great hotel. The service was impeccable with all staff members being friendly and helpful. The overall ambience of the restaurant was bright and open. We were seated in a booth close to the kitchen but we didn’t notice the sound.

We started with the Southwest Sampler. The crab cakes were fried perfectly, the short rib enchilada was a little too sauce heavy but still delicious, and the lobster tacos were delicious…but let’s be honest, the tacos were one bite and not two bite.

My gf had the Chilean Sea Bass and I ordered the Antelope over Mole Rojo with Rabbit Enchilada.

Both the sea bass and the rice it sat on were cooked perfectly. Absolutely delicious dish that I’ll order next time for myself. I’m usually disappointed with rice in Texas so this was a pleasant surprise.

The antelope was amazing. Whenever I see it on a menu, I always order it and I encourage everyone to try it. The only miss on this dish was the rabbit enchilada. The meat was a little dry and there was a bit too much cheese for the size of the enchilada.

Overall, this a great dining experience and I highly recommend it.
