Absolutely loved this place! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming – loved all the fun decorations and hawaiian-y vibes.

It was definitely very busy when we arrived. We waited a little bit past our reservation, but the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive.

We went for restaurant week and the food was great—fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. Lots of food, 4 courses!!! I’d say this was one of the most worth restaurant week places we’ve been too. It was only $45 for dinner. The overall experience was fantastic.

Our waitress, Jip, was very kind throughout our restaurant experience! Helped me out with a friend’s birthday too. Gave us complimentary lemon drop shots and a little birthday celebration 🙂

I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this restaurant to friends and family.

This place never disappoints. Not only do we always get great service, but the food is amazing! I love that they have a whole vegetarian menu! We’ve had the server Tan a few times and he is fantastic – super attentive. A small detail from our most recent visit – they have orchids on every plate for display and I was collecting them to put in a display at home. One of the bussers noticed and offered a to-go box for them. Such a small thing, but such attention to detail. 10 out of 10 recommend this place!

First time at Bites and I struggled with the overall review rating! Decided I couldn’t give this place under 4 stars because whoever is cooking in the kitchen has some serious skill, and you can’t be mad sitting under a palm tree. Just wish the professionalism of the restaurant matched the superior food quality

To start off, our service was horrendous. We went for the first day of restaurant week. The restaurant wasn’t that busy due to the freezing temps, but we proceeded to watch our server socialize with the bartenders, chat with other waitstaff at the back kitchen window and pay no attention to our table. Took ~20 minutes to be greeted and get a drink order and nearly every table that was seated after us was finished before we even saw dessert. 1/5 stars

Now the food…THAT is what will bring us back and keep us dreaming of BITES.

Food reviews:
Crab Rangoon–crispy light outside with a delicate flavorful filling. Unlike any crab Rangoon I’ve had before and not heavy at all
Corn ribs–good cook, solid flavor, but just okay compared to rest of dishes
24k maki–amazing flavor profile and generous portion of fish. However both of our rolls were MISSING the beautiful 24k gold that was supposed to be over the top (took away from the aesthetic of the namesake of the dish)
Panang salmon–WOW. Standout dish by far. Beautiful crispy cook on the salmon and spice from the sauce. I originally asked for sauce on side and proceeded to use the entire ramekin. You could drink that stuff
Creme brûlée sweet potato–wouldn’t recommend. Lacked a wow factor or really any creme anglaise to make it dessert. Also came with a plastic spoon which felt unprofessional…

My friend and I went here for restaurant week. For the first course we had the corn ribs and spicy crab wontons (which were essentially crab rangoon). Both were good.

Second course was the 24k maki, it was decent, you could taste the truffle oil and they put lots of fish eggs on top.

The third/main course is what blew us away! The panang salmon came with three huge pieces of salmon and a delicious sweet/spicy coconut curry sauce. My friend was basically drinking the sauce like a soup. Would definitely come back for that! And we had the udon carbonara. The noodles were creamy and bouncy. They were served with a creamy egg yolk on top and crispy Chinese sausage slices. These portions were big and we could barely finish this course!

Finally, for dessert we had the banana Nutella wontons which were good and what you would expect. The sweet potato crème brûlée knocked our socks off!! It was so creamy and sweet and they served it inside the potato which was fun.

Friendly staff, fun tropical atmosphere, definitely would come back.

They also had a good selection of cocktails, mocktails, teas, and even coffee. Could be a fun place to just grab drinks and apps.

Please add the crème brûlée to the regular menu! My friend said it changed the course of her entire life!! ❤️

We did our research and found this authentic eatery before we even travelled to Illinois. We absolutely loved that it was located in an old historic neighborhood in Chicago. We were greeted as soon as we walked in by friendly staff and seated as we were the first ones for lunch rush. The atmosphere was incredible so we knew we were in store for some bonkers delicious food. This place reminded us a lot of another Asian cuisine gem that we found when we traveled to Portland, Maine, last year. We got the emerald gyoza as our appetizer which led to my first experience with wasabi as the dipping sauce included a wasabi aioli. It was the perfect amount of spice to add to these delicious gyoza and the filling was top notch. My wife got the honey-bourbon sesame fried chicken sandwich and I landed on the Singapore noodles. We both loved our respective choices and enjoyed eating off each other’s plates as well prices were very good for the quality and portions. We paid using the Inkind app which also made our visit that much better with such a convenient way to pay our bill. We’d love to come back when in Chicago!

I discovered this place randomly mostly Google and because it’s close to the bars. I called at first there was a wait but when I arrive there was opening at the bar so we went to the bar. The food was beautiful and delicious! The price point is reasonable the decors are cute. One less star I wish it was bigger and more seating and the restroom it’s kinda weird to pass through the kitchen. Other than that will definitely go back for delicious drinks and food! Highly recommended ! Make sure you make a reservation . It gets busy

We saw this restaurant on Tripple D and my husband said he wanted it. I booked a day trip to Chicago from Houston. It was worth the trip! The restaurant was nicely designed and very cozy. Our service was spot on. The cocktails we unique and delicious. The duck boa was amazing. Honestly the most moist duck I’ve ever had. My husband came for the beef ribs Ramen and was not disappointed If your in the area or not this restaurant is fantastic!

LOVE Bites! My partner and I have gone twice and we love to sit at the bar!

The bartender, Tana, is fantastic! The service is great, atmosphere is beautiful, and the food is FANTASTIC! Each time we have gone we have gotten something different. We haven’t been disappointed with anything that we’ve ordered.

Highly recommend their mussels, the sushi is all fantastic, their rangoons, garlic edamame, and tostada! Next on our list to try is their seafood paella!

We came here for happy hour and had a great time! Pitchers of sangria are a must and we tried both items on the happy hour menu and the regular menu. While items on the happy hour are not my favorite picks, I had so much fun with the taro fries and I ADORE the basil cream mussel. It’s creamy, strong basil fragrance, and a spice kick that gets you addicted. We order extra bread three times to make the sauce doesn’t go to waste. And service was amazing!
