The store is very cute. The person at the counter is the sweetest. The ice creams are very creamy, rich and smooth. The proportion of a single scoop in a cup is great and so well worth the money!

People: The person who took our order was polite and helpful.
Experience: We have been here a few times over the years and have enjoyed it each time. We love their Chicken Monterey panini and it’s always been delicious each time. We also got the pulled pork panini and loved the contrasting flavors of the two we ordered. Each came with a pickle spear, which I’m a big fan of. Previously I’ve ordered the house chips and recommend them. They have a wide variety of ice cream flavors and many options when it comes to shakes, sundaes, or cones.
Bathroom was also clean as was the rest of the restaurant.
Do It Again? Sure thing! I’ll continue to stop here when I come through Richfield.

A great alternative to greasy burgers and fries this place offers delicious sandwiches and paninis, soups and salads, and of course some fantastic sweet treats like bannana splits, hot fudge brownies, ice cream and slushes. Fountain drinks are unlimited. Fantastic atmosphere with a fun vibe.

The Ideal Dairy is a cute little place in Richfield where you can get something good to eat and definitely get a sweet treat! The inside reminds me of a cross between an old fashioned ice cream shop mixed with granny’s kitchen. The people that work there are super sweet and made me feel right at home. Menu clearly states served with chips and kids drink. Order taker offered several flavors, I picked BBQ. When they totalled my order it was over $7. I paid and saw that they charged .50 for chips. Nothing said flavors are extra or that its additional for chips.
These are homemade chips.
The BBQ was a bit too spicy for me and I asked to trade for regular. They accommodated my request.
I just feel if there’s a charge for a flavor, both ethnically and morally and perhaps legally, too; it should 100% be disclosed on the menu so you can make an informed decision when spending your money.
I did not ask about the up charge, but should have. It wasn”t cool to add on unnoticed charges.

Not sure why this place has 4.6 stars. Stopped here after a long mountain bike ride. I got the cheeseburger panini and a caramel shake. The burger was on a bagel, not a panini and the patty tasted like it had been cooked in a microwave. The shake tasted like vanilla soft serve. Maybe I just didn’t order the right thing, but the food just seemed below average especially for the price. The service was fine.

The ideal dairy was great. We took a detour on our trip home to come up to Richfield and try this place out, and we weren’t disappointed. It has a very established feel to it with 3 generations running the ice cream parlor, very high quality ice cream, friendly staff, and amazing raspberry shakes, and my family had a great time. It was also really affordable and high value for what we got. We were very happy and plan to come back whenever we’re in the area.

The young people working were quite nice & served us well. I was disappointed to hear from the staff person that the milk/cream for the ice cream wasn’t from the local farms but from Sisco. I was hoping for locally sourced as well as locally made!

Delicious and affordable food and ice cream. Staff is super friendly. Country home atmosphere. We especially enjoyed their banana split and home-style potato chips. So tasty!

My realtor highly recommended this place and they didn’t disappoint!
I tried the breakfast bagels and it was so fresh, great start of my day.
We also had the homemade biscuits and gravy which had a good portion of sausage bits and cheese.
I love sherbet and they had watermelon flavored sherbet! Naturally, I got a pint to go for tonight.
