A marvelous restaurant with a historic location in the downtown area of KC. The restaurant has a German Wisconsin history and theme from a variety of top sausages to crunchy delicious pizzas with Wisconsin cheese toppings and more delicious toppings.
The deli sandwiches with pastrami or corned beef etc is actually better than the ones you get in manhattan NY 🙂
A great bar area is available also serving local and German beers and other craft breweries and bourbons etc .
John , a gracious owner runs the restaurant.
We had the pastrami and the slices of pizza and salad . All exceptional . Service is excellent.

Great place to stop in for lunch when downtown if you can get a seat. We had the hot pastrami sandwich and 2 slices of pizza. The horseradish sauce was very tasty and not overpowered. Very nice compliment to the smokey pastrami. The pizza slices were huge. Great crust. Solid pizza. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Atmosphere: very relaxed and laid back.
My only criticism is the soup wasn’t very good. It tasted like someone popped a can of some progresso in the back. For a place that has such incredible sandwiches, I’d expect some really good soup.
The Reuben was absolutely delicious!!

Huge slices and pizzas, great crust, almost too many toppings so I just got cheese which was fantastic. Sandwiches are stuffed and super fresh. Nice upstairs seasons area and plenty of places at the bar. Great cocktails and beer.

Oh my gosh, I love this place. The pizza by the slice is huge!! I got the deluxe/combo and it was the bomb. We also tried the spiced sausage (without the bun) with horseradish and it was so great! Service was so pleasant. Great beer/liquor choices. I don’t live here, but if I did I would come here weekly to have more menu items/sandwiches and to have more pizza!

I love to take pictures and tell the story of my visit. This time, though I kept my purse in my pocket and just enjoy the vibe. It is a great historic building. The flooring is original. The ceiling is gorgeous. Obviously they don’t want to take away from the authentic historic aesthetic by doing fancy modern renovations. I have to say I love that.
So atmosphere is a five star and if that’s not enough, the service was exceptional . At our table, we ordered sandwiches pizza and salad . All were exceptional, and for the price the portions were very generous. My advice would be if you order a single slice. It’s more than enough for one person so if you have 2 to 3 people ordering two single slices might be the better route. We had half a delicious pizza left over we shared the garden salad and truthfully it was enough for four in the full-size. Everything was enjoyable and delicious. The bathroom was clean definitely coming back and not ashamed to bring some friends.
Parking tip.: park in the library parking lot be sure to check out the library. It’s a fabulous library and a beautiful building and they will validate your parking.

This place is delicious! Had a slice, it came out and it was bigger than my head! The ranch I used to dip the pizza was housemade and amazing. The garlic cheese bread is spectacular. The music playing in the background was 90’s rock. I will definitely be back!
