We had reservations for Saturday brunch and were seated immediately. The staff was wonderful. I ordered the Bloody Hell that had the perfect amount of spice and garnish that wasn’t over done and she ordered the mimosas. That’s about where the delight stopped. Food did come out quickly for how busy it was. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with breakfast potatoes and she had the pork belly skillet. Both of our breakfast potatoes were overwhelmingly over seasoned and just tasted like seasoning salt. My gravy was fine, but nothing stuck out about it. While the cheddar biscuit underneath was light and tasty, but overtaken by underwhelming gravy and salty potatoes. The pork belly skillet, being breakfast potato based ended up being picked at and barely eaten. Small portion of the best part the egg on top just fine. The skillet also comes served to the brim in a mini skillet and small plate making it more of a task to eat than what you’d expect from a made to mix up and shovel into your tummy. Either a bit smaller portion or some extra working room. Sometimes less is more. No fault of the floor staff they did comp her meal and offered something else. It wasn’t the greatest start to our anniversary date day and we were bummed and agreed it was fine but we would be okay with not making a trip back.

We hosted our reception (around 30 guests) at the Copper Hen. Working with Marisa was fun! Her communication was clear and helpful in planning our brunch get together. We live out of state and I couldn’t be more grateful for the time and detail that was given to help feel like we could just relax and enjoy. Loved the food – many guests mentioned they now want to go back for dinner/another brunch. Very happy with the space, the pricing, and the food! Would recommend.

Nice and quiet morning here, My waitor Alex was welcoming and gave excellent service and menu suggestions without overdoing it! I got the short ribs and everything was seasoned perfectly and the eggs had the perfect runny yolk. A little on the splurgy end of things but definitely worth it!

Super fun brunch/lunch spot. Big groups make a reservation. Really tasty bloody hell Mary. Loved their selection of seasonal beverages.
The pork belly skillet was amazing, the biscuits and gravy was a little too tough for my liking but the flavor was great.
Staff was attentive, kind, and very friendly.
A little more expensive then I usually go to but a great spot for a treat.

The Copper Hen has the best deal anywhere – hands down. I (gladly!) challenge you to find a better offer. Their Thursday night Date Night special is an actual bargain. $55 gets you 2 starters, 2 entrees and a shared dessert (or 2 cupcakes) AND you can throw on a “surprise” bottle of wine for another $25.

My husband and I were celebrating Valentine’s Day a bit later this year, so for our special occasion dining we decided to head over the river to Minneapolis to enjoy our evening.

1st Course:
Bacon Jam Bruschetta – fig, chili, french bread:

Really unexpected. I’m used to little bruschetta with things piled on top of each small slice, but this is a significant slice of soft, sandwich bread with the toppings all mushed together and spread on top. It was different and salty/sweet.

Beef Bread – red wine braised short rib, butterkäse, caramelized onion cream cheese, bordelaise, baker’s field bread:

Immaculate. The best thing I’ve eaten in a MINUTE. So savory. It reminded me of some kind of inverse french onion soup. I would happily come here and just order a full size serving of this.

2nd Course:
Baked Macaroni & Cheese – house-made cheese sauce, cavatappi, panko breadcrumbs:

I rarely get mac and cheese when we’re out because the mornay sauce base at many places feels grainy to me and the cheese flavor is often too sharp IMO, and a little dry AND – the worst bit- it’s overcooked. This is the opposite of that. It was smooth and creamy with PLENTY of liquid sauce and just the right amount of cheese. The noodles were firm and the panko breading crispy and restrained. The best restaurant mac and cheese I can remember.

Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich – fried chicken thigh, sweet & spicy honey, dill aioli, house-made dill pickles, butter lettuce, brioche bun, served with fries & garlic aioli:

The sandwich was delightful. Crispy and juicy. A great combo of sweet and salty (though I didn’t really get any heat) with just the right amount of condiments and a nice, soft, pillowy bun that didn’t just collapse and spill all the ingredients out. Fries were fine, though frozen, I think.

3rd Course:
Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie – warm signature chocolate chip cookie, sebastian joe’s malted vanilla ice cream, caramel: So freaking good. Ooey and gooey and totally perfect with the silky SJ ice cream. I’m drooling again just writing about it.

Came to Copper Hen for Christmas Eve dinner! It was absolutely amazing!! Portions are great for price and quality of the food. I got the hot honey chicken sandwich, and it did not disappoint. It was crispy, sweet, and spicy. Topped with butter lettuce and pickles. The fries served with the meal were excellent, they were the perfect texture and temperature, served with a garlic aioli sauce that was to die for. All in all, phenomenal experience, will be coming back.

Saturday afternoon, 12:15, the place was packed tight with large groups but got a table with our reservation, no problem. (Definitely recommend coming with a reservation on the weekend) The food was spot on, and the service staff were so polite and friendly, even with the rambunctious tables around us. Couldn’t have asked for a better brunch date spot, and we will be returning to try the rest of the menu! (Highly recommend the p
Pokrbelly Skillet, and the Short Rib Criollo)

We had our wedding here in the special side room. The whole thing from photos to ceremony to dinner to reception. They even did a gluten free, dairy free wedding cake! We wanted a vintage 1920s themed wedding, and the events planner Marisa gave us everything we needed in the Copper Bar. The event package included hors d’oeuvre menu, drink menu (including non-alcoholic), delicious family style entrees, sides, desserts and of course the cake. We had one guest with rather severe restrictions and she had a whole separate menu just for him, he was so happy! Our small party was beautifully served by the two bartenders and the wait staff, and I didn’t feel stressed the entire time. They even played our music through the entire restaurant! I would recommend them for any event, or just taking your friends for a good dinner. They are willing to accommodate almost anyone.

Phenomenal food. I’ve attached quite a bit of photos of all the different foods that we ordered. The service is amazing. The restaurant is definitely a little crammed because of how many seats they have managed to squeeze in. Do not come here without a reservation. Otherwise you’ll be one of those people standing by the door door of which there isn’t much room.

It is a quite lively atmosphere. It is definitely on the loud side. But nothing annoying. Just be aware it’s not a quiet location.

Quite a variety of food and people seem to love the bottomless mimosas. Overall it’s a great place but not sure if it’s worth the hassle. Parking isn’t always the easiest so it can get quite annoying.

Wow what a cute establishment! The food was great, service was excellent, and did I mention the food? We had brunch, which was awesome that it was available on a Friday until 2p! I got the hot chicken sandwich and it was sooo crispy! It was light and airy like broasted chicken, my fave! Will definitely be back, especially since the Eat Street restaurants near the Pretti memorial need us patrons now more than ever!
