I had the chance to visit New York New York Pizza on Bruce B Downs, and from the moment we walked in, I felt something different about this place — in a good way. The first thing that stood out to me was how welcoming and down-to-earth the team is. You can tell right away that they take pride in what they do. It’s the kind of environment where you feel like you’re walking into a neighborhood spot that genuinely appreciates its customers.
The second thing that jumped out was the seasonal and holiday décor. Most pizza places don’t go the extra mile to create an atmosphere — but here, they do. It feels fun, personal, and full of personality. It gave the restaurant a warm, inviting energy that made the whole experience feel a little more special.
We decided to try a variety of slices — buffalo, BBQ chicken, margherita, and supreme — to get a good sense of their range. Every single one was flavorful, fresh, and well-made. The buffalo slice really surprised me in the best way. It had the perfect balance of tangy, savory, and creamy — easily my favorite of the night. My wife loved the supreme, and I have to agree it was loaded just right without feeling heavy. The BBQ and margherita slices weren’t far behind — full of flavor and made with care.
And here’s the part some people might react to with a “no way!” — but honestly, I was impressed enough to say it: the flavor quality reminded me a bit of Eddie & Sam’s, which is a huge compliment. Anyone in the Tampa area knows Eddie & Sam’s sets the bar pretty high for New York–style slices. So for this spot in Wesley Chapel to even hit a similar note means they’re doing something right.
Between the friendly atmosphere, the effort they put into their presentation, and the quality of the food, this place gave me a genuinely great vibe. It’s the kind of restaurant you want to come back to — not just because the pizza is good, but because the experience feels good.
If you’re in the Wesley Chapel area (or even if you’re not), I definitely recommend giving New York New York Pizza a try. I’m glad we stopped in, and I truly hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

I’m born and raised in New York for 48 yrs , there’s no pizza like New York ….I have been in Florida for 11 yrs and this is the only place that tastes just like New York!!! Just so you know I have tried A LOT of pizzerias.

This has turned into our go to pizza place. The pizza is really good and there are delicious options on the menu.
We also enjoy the pasta dishes. The eggplant parm needs some work. Sometimes it tastes like frozen food instead of freshly made.

Ordered for the first time recently and was pleased with one part of my food and not so much with the other. I’ll say that if you’re very particular about gloves being used you don’t want to try this place because they don’t. I wasn’t aware of this as I called in my order for pick up. Had I known this, I would not have chosen this restaurant. The pizza slice was absolutely delicious although it is the most that I’ve ever paid for only a slice. It had a crispy bottom which I hadn’t experienced before from other places unless you ask for it to be crispy. Having a pizza slice that can be picked up and doesn’t flop on you is so satisfying and I was very pleased. That alone was worth me trying them and made me happy. The garlic knots though I didn’t enjoy but perhaps maybe fresh cut garlic placed on top of the bread is your jam. It is not mine and I wouldn’t recommend them. The marinara was more liquidy than chunky which again isn’t my preference but maybe other folks like it that way. Overall it was a decent experience, the employee that answered the phone to take my order was the same person at the counter when I arrived and she was very pleasant and friendly.
