I rarely leave a review but I had to definitely leave one for Oaks Steak House and Gifts. The food was amazing, from the appetizers, the salad bar and the ribeye, just amazing. They cooked the ribeye to perfection. Betty are server was amazing, she really helped us pick the best items on the menu and she is very kind. Thank you for an amazing meal and an amazing experience. Definitely coming back.

The food tasted good (the salad bar was great) and it’s a good value except for the add-on shrimp. $5 for 6 small size shrimp like what you would buy in bag at Walmart–a complete rip off. I was shocked when it was delivered.

Reminds me of a friend’s cabin but with a bigger living area filled with tables. LoVE how many locals came in to dine. Warm & hospitable staff. Good hearty food. Most of the food we ordered were large portions for a good price. The best was the chicken livers & chivken fried steak. My least fave was the open-faced steak sandwich, which was small, Flat, & dry. For the same price, get the chicken fried steak instead. The 14oz prime rib was moist & tender too but on the oily sude. No room for pie. We were full!

We ate here with my whole family, 17 people. I think the hostess was a little taken aback with our number and was a little rude when checking in. We were seated in a timely manner and accommodated. Food was OK. Salad bar was delicious. They were great about bringing food out when it was ready so it didn’t get cold. Our waitress was fantastic and patient. Nice little country, home cooking restaurant.

We eat here pretty regularly. My husband loves the steak and guzzles down the sweet tea, and my son always gets a bowl of Pinto beans with whatever he orders. They have the best salad bar in town. You could drink the ranch dressing . I’ve honestly not tried something that I didn’t like here. If you’re in the area, it’s a must try.

I ordered the prime rib (at $42 +) rare. My friend ordered his medium. I was told mine might not come out rare; I at least hoped it would be medium rare. When we got our food I looked at my steak and knew it was no where near rare.

My friend started eating his while I fixed my sweet potato. He said his was a little more rare then he liked but it had a good taste. My wife said her ribeye had a good taste also. I finally cut into my steak.

It was grey on the inside. No moisture or juices at all. It also had no flavor, at least I didn’t think it did. It was so hard for me to chew.

I also asked the waitress for a second beer. It never came.

Overall this was probably the worst prime rib I ever had. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, sorry to say that the food we ordered was over priced and a bit less than good, I dislike making these kind of reviews because most of the time the waitress gets the bad rapp !!
Stay away from the prime rib !!!

I was pretty excited to be there for the first time, me and my husband walked in and it was a minute to be seated but nobody was in there but 2 tables. It looked like everyone was in the back talking away. We finally got seated, I was asking a lot of questions about the food and what was going on. She seemed like she was getting annoyed with me, they had a salad bar and I wanted to know about it. It was like I should have known what was going on in the restaurant. After 40mins to get our order it was someone that was helping us. I wasn’t going to tip 2 people even tho the other lady did most of the work. I wish I would have caught her to give her a tip, but we left giving no tip. It was not a good experience, and my hamburger steak was really rubbery, I never had anything like it. I couldn’t even cut it, so I didn’t even eat it cause how bad it was.

This is about as local as it gets!! You know a restaurant is going to be good when all the locals are eating there. It didn’t have a gift shop though as the name leads you to believe. I had a Salmon dinner & my husband had a Cheeseburger The salad bar is amazing and has tons of stuff so I would definitely recommend it. Our waitress was so kind. I recommend trying the tomato relish. They should sell it to go because we loved it!! My salmon had an amazing dill sauce and a delicious pop over served with it. I loved it all. Beautiful view in the back of a pasture.

I would say this is the best restaurant in Broken Bow. The ambience is warm and welcoming, service is top notch and food will make you come back.

The waitress, Keesha was an absolute delight. If you’re confused about the menu, she will give out the best recommendations and trust her on that. She recommended us to try out the combo, which had steak for 2, 2 separate sides and 2 separate access to the salad bar. Best deal right?

The most assuring part about the restaurant was the locals eating there. It felt like a family reunion when people from all tables kept talking to each other and sharing a banter. Imagine eating there regularly and yet being excited about it? Has to be good yea?

what we ordered:
sirloin for 2 (steaks made perfectly as requested)
side of fried okra (not the best okra I’ve had but pretty crispy)
side of mashed potato (brown sauce made to perfection)
salad bar (Try it and thank me later)
Unfortunately didn’t get to try their coconut dessert, may be next time.

Look out for my next review!
