We reserved a table for dinner on a Sunday afternoon without an issue. We both tried entrées from the recommended specials, which was definitely the right decision!
My wife loved her wild caught grilled “Wahoo” with fire toasted corn red pepper risotto, grilled asparagus, lump crab, hollandaise. The fish was melt in your mouth, buttery, and flaky in the best way.
I honestly can not even remember what my entrée was titled, but it was essentially shaved ribeye wrapped in a crispy, baked pastry dough with steak sauce and whipped garlic mashed potatoes. It typically is accompanied with collard greens, but they were out, and I was given the choice of an alternate side item. I went with the carrots, which looked the part, but were a bit too firm for my taste. I could have likely chosen a better alternative in hindsight.
Every table is blessed with bread and a trio of tasty spreads. Our appetizer was the spinach and artichoke dip, which did taste savory and creamy but was heavy on the artichoke and seemed to disappear quickly. (Maybe because we just love spinach dip!)
The restaurant was clean, cozy, and had that “lake” vibe away from the lake. The service was top notch with our server who was especially attentive throughout the evening.
The figurative cherry on top was bringing a piece of brown sugar bourban cheesecake to go home.
We will certainly bring friends & family here to share meals we know will impress.
Thank you!
Upon sitting down, we were given water and bread with three types of spreads. Abbie P was our waitress and she was friendly and attentive. We were seated at the back end of the mezzanine, and even then she was still by often to check on us. The service was great.
For dinner I had the New York Strip Special (served with broccolini and mac and cheese), and my wife had the French Onion Soup and the Seared Jumbo Sea Scallops. Great portions, and very good taste (although I was not a big fan of the mac and cheese, but my wife loved it). They were accommodating and removed the mushroom from my special, which is always appreciated! Best part of the night was the peach cobbler! Excellent! We had a bottle of Sebastiani Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine list selection was excellent, and I thought the prices were reasonable.
Overall a very good meal, great service and loves the atmosphere. We will be back!
That being said, still 5 stars because everything else was absolutely fantastic. If all we had ordered was that, it would have been a really bad experience, but our other amazing dishes made up for it.
We were seated next to an open door to the kitchen where we had a perfect view of filthy mop buckets, dirty water, and even a hole in the floor. Completely disgusting and totally unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone one pretending to be upscale.
Our food took over an hour to show up. My shrimp and grits were a disaster — great shrimp, but the grits were so bland they tasted like nothing at all. When I complained, the manager couldn’t have cared less.
My wife’s pasta was a mess: meatballs barely warm, and the angel-hair was absolutely drowning in tomato basil sauce. Sloppy and careless.
And the women’s restroom? A dump. Neglected, dirty, and in desperate need of a full gut renovation.
This was easily one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. Save your money and go literally anywhere else.
