Anna did a great job explaining the specials and recommended the mahi mahi. Service was very good. The mahi mahi was sitting on polenta with spinach and tomatoes. Sadly the mahi mahi was overcooked, but I was so hungry I still ate it. The sauce and sides it was sitting in still made it very good. My family loved their salmon dish. They were able to substitute their sides. Dinner came with bread and 3 types of butter. Our favorite was the pesto butter, we used it up quickly.

The Blue Heron is absolutely incredible. Without a doubt, my wife and my new favorite spot.

We reserved a table for dinner on a Sunday afternoon without an issue. We both tried entrées from the recommended specials, which was definitely the right decision!

My wife loved her wild caught grilled “Wahoo” with fire toasted corn red pepper risotto, grilled asparagus, lump crab, hollandaise. The fish was melt in your mouth, buttery, and flaky in the best way.

I honestly can not even remember what my entrée was titled, but it was essentially shaved ribeye wrapped in a crispy, baked pastry dough with steak sauce and whipped garlic mashed potatoes. It typically is accompanied with collard greens, but they were out, and I was given the choice of an alternate side item. I went with the carrots, which looked the part, but were a bit too firm for my taste. I could have likely chosen a better alternative in hindsight.

Every table is blessed with bread and a trio of tasty spreads. Our appetizer was the spinach and artichoke dip, which did taste savory and creamy but was heavy on the artichoke and seemed to disappear quickly. (Maybe because we just love spinach dip!)

The restaurant was clean, cozy, and had that “lake” vibe away from the lake. The service was top notch with our server who was especially attentive throughout the evening.

The figurative cherry on top was bringing a piece of brown sugar bourban cheesecake to go home.

We will certainly bring friends & family here to share meals we know will impress.

Thank you!

I have heard a lot of people mention this restaurant, so we decided to give it a try. Booked on OpenTable and the only available seating was Bar Side Mezzanine Dining. Other options were Bar Side Seating, Outside Seating and Upscale Casual Dining Area. We arrived relatively early to our reservation, and was seated immediately. We sat in the upper mezzanine section but looked like the restaurant was large with the several sections. Bar was extensive and well decorated. Lots of large tables and I can see why this is a great place to go after Clemson events with large parties.

Upon sitting down, we were given water and bread with three types of spreads. Abbie P was our waitress and she was friendly and attentive. We were seated at the back end of the mezzanine, and even then she was still by often to check on us. The service was great.

For dinner I had the New York Strip Special (served with broccolini and mac and cheese), and my wife had the French Onion Soup and the Seared Jumbo Sea Scallops. Great portions, and very good taste (although I was not a big fan of the mac and cheese, but my wife loved it). They were accommodating and removed the mushroom from my special, which is always appreciated! Best part of the night was the peach cobbler! Excellent! We had a bottle of Sebastiani Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine list selection was excellent, and I thought the prices were reasonable.

Overall a very good meal, great service and loves the atmosphere. We will be back!

I have eaten here multiple times and have never had a bad meal here. Blue Heron has a variety of dishes on their menu that includes pasta, sushi, burgers, and main entrees so it’s easy to pick whatever you’re in the mood for. Great ambience! Perfect for date night. Very friendly staff! I recommend getting reservations because it can get packed.

I was a bit nervous at first as all of our water glasses had to be sent back they were dirty. But the food was really good. Lobster Bisque and French onion soup were delicious. Staff needs more help as our waitress was overwhelmed.

My sister-in-law flew in from California to visit our daughter at Clemson. The Blue Heron is one of our daughter’s favorite spots to go when family visitors arrive. The manager went on his way to find our 2 loved ones and make sure that we could pay for the bill. They both loved everything about the meal and service. Thank you.

The food was fantastic with the exception of the grouper sandwich. I didn’t get a photo of it, but it was really mushy and tasted like oil and mayonnaise.

That being said, still 5 stars because everything else was absolutely fantastic. If all we had ordered was that, it would have been a really bad experience, but our other amazing dishes made up for it.

This place advertises itself as fine dining, but that’s an absolute joke. They served our drinks in plastic cups — I’ve had better presentation at gas stations.
We were seated next to an open door to the kitchen where we had a perfect view of filthy mop buckets, dirty water, and even a hole in the floor. Completely disgusting and totally unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone one pretending to be upscale.
Our food took over an hour to show up. My shrimp and grits were a disaster — great shrimp, but the grits were so bland they tasted like nothing at all. When I complained, the manager couldn’t have cared less.
My wife’s pasta was a mess: meatballs barely warm, and the angel-hair was absolutely drowning in tomato basil sauce. Sloppy and careless.
And the women’s restroom? A dump. Neglected, dirty, and in desperate need of a full gut renovation.
This was easily one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. Save your money and go literally anywhere else.

Timmy was absolutely amazing. He was everything you would come to expect from a restaurant like this. Best duck breast we have had in years. Perfectly cooked and flavorful. The hanger steak with blackened shrimp was also amazing. Definitely a great place to enjoy family, friends, and great food.

One star is a lot. The waitress was nice, but it was so dirty and disgusting. I was invited there and I couldn’t refuse. I saw the plates, forks and spoons and I wanted to vomit, I was disgusted. I was afraid to eat there because I rarely go to restaurants because of the problem with restaurants, kitchen cleanliness and service in America. I always feel bad after going to restaurants. I hope this time I won’t feel bad after this meal. The soup was good, but the fish dish with the thick fried bottoms sucked. They brought me soup and this plate was so dirty that me and my boyfriend thought it hadn’t been washed in years, like they were just wiped down with floor cloths. I don’t recommend it. The faucet in the ladies’ room is about to fall off. Fix it.
